The premise is very simple, pick a few things you used to have as a kid, or maybe teen, that you wish you still had. Not because of their intrinsic value by today's standards either, something that actually mean more to you than money.

For me it would be:

1. My GI Joe and Transformers collections - OF the Joes, I actually had 90% Cobra (most every figure from the first series up to about '92 and a ton of vehicles/playsets). Of Transformers I had a bunch of awesome characters but none were as cool as my Grimlok, Soundwave (and all his cassette-bots) and Starscream, all vintage 1st editions. All my toys were loose but well maintained and most had all their bits. I miss my Terrordrome specificially, as well as my USS Flagg. I want them back because I spent so much time with them they're literally a staple of my childhood I'll never get back...

2. My first X-Men collection... started with the issue where Wolverine gets nailed to the X-cross by Donald Pierce and the Reavers, and went all the way up to the Phalanx saga, complete with a full collection of X-Men #1 covers, a bunch of other X-titles (X-Force, Excalibur, X-Factor) and all the mini-series in-between. I also later picked up the entire Inferno run across all the tie-ins... I miss those because that was my first collection of comics ever and it was all stolen.

3. My TMNT Mirage Vol. 1 book. I miss this because it got me into drawing comics, and because I love TMNT. I read the living shit out of this collection, until the book was stolen in 8th grade.

My old SNES and N64 and the games. I had to sell them when I was a kid and now I sorely regret it. All those games... Hell I only got $50 out of them, only for me to go on E-bay a few years later and find out that many of those games were worth twice that by themselves.

My hair before I spent years assaulting it with hair-dye.
I've almost grown it out though, almost!

I actually still have most of my cherished childhood toys in an attic at my Mom's house. She's loathe to throw any of that stuff out so she tends to save it.

Maybe my SNES and the games I had for it.
Someone broke into our house when I was a kid and cleared the place, we were renting in a pretty shitty area at the time.
My Mom had to worry about money and other valuables but I was distraught over the loss of Yoshi's Island and my variety of Mario games.

I don't think I'm ever going to get over it.

I don't know if I have a lack of nostalgia or that I'm not a sentimental but there's really nothing from my childhood I wish I still had.

All the "material" things I had as a kid were fun toys that I remember but I wouldn't really do...well....anything with them anymore (a lot of them I actually still have at my Mum's house. As the oldest child, my toys got handed down and that tradition continues today as my parents get new kids to play with as my brothers and sisters get married and get niece/nephew in-laws and whatnot to spoil until the grandchildren start poppin out).

As for sentimental things, I don't really have any (then or now). I'm not a sentimental guy; I don't keep/take pictures and I don't have objects that mean anything special to me.

A band. I really miss playing mediocre music, fucking around at practices, and going to loads of parties. It was really awesome and it annoys me that I'm no longer as good at guitar as I used to be.

My old PS1 and game library, and the shit ton of anime I bought on VHS. Eventhough I wouldn't be able to play any of them since my VCR is long since deceased, there were a couple of rare editions that at the time I wasn't aware of how rare they were.

Also, my youthful hope for the future.

My old SNES. I have all the cartridges for it, but my dad gave the console away after I moved out.
And I will always hate him for it.

A lot of things. A whole bunch of my toys, statues, and family heirlooms got left behind when we had to move away from the town I grew up in to the city I'm living in now. It still makes me kind of sad and angry to think about it.

At the very least, I wish I still had my grandfather's old prop sword (he was a play actor, and made a lot of his own props in his basement). It was pretty impressive-looking, and it would have been fun to have around.

I'm kind of like that as well. I'm very sentimental for the idea of sentimentality, but for the most part I tend to be practical about things and so don't keep a lot around.

Most of the stuff I'm glad I kept I only kept accidently and didn't appreciate at the time. I still have a book I wrote in second grade about snowboarding. It was an annoying assignment, but holy shit is it a hilarious read.

OT: Other than what I said above I guess I wish I hadn't sold some N64 games I had, but that's mostly just because I'd like to play them again beyond just nostalgia factor.

I wish I still had my favorite stuffed animal from when I was very little. It was a rabbit I named Sarah and she was as big as I was tall. Still, I used to carry her around everywhere.

Then there were my mini-arcades of Zaxxon and Q-Bert, which were cool because they had better graphics than the Atari 2600. Thankfully, I still have my Pac Man mini-arcade, and that's because it was at my mom's house (and currently sits on the top shelf in the pantry). It's even in its original box. The reason I don't have the former two is because they were at my dad's and my dad and stepmom tossed a lot of my stuff without even telling me.

The last one was my E.T. stuffed animal. The exterior was vinyl, making it rather uncomfortable to carry around for very long. It got hot and just from body heat.

EDIT - I can't believe I forgot to include my Rainbow Brite doll! It was the original one with the yarn hair.

None of what I had was practical in any way, but there's always been some form of attachment to those things. Even though I have the memories they would have invoked, I enjoyed having them. Possibly the reason I miss them is because they were taken from me, not given away personally or sold. I guess part of it is the hole the loss of those things left in me as a kid, as most of those things were gifts from my grandparents who were very instrumental in raising me, as well as my parents. I'm very family oriented (still evil at the core, but one can be evil and still love your family) and the gifts they gave me were more than just objects, they were part of something bigger.
Sure it was just objects, but those objects were quantum companions of mine as I grew up. They were on display in my room .I wallpapered my room with comic posters, cutouts from Wizard, extra comic covers and pin-ups, etc. My GI Joes were on a shelf, the USS Flagg was disassembled and boxed (was saving it for my own house), my Transformers were on a different shelf. All reminders of the people they came from, and what those people meant to me. I didn't and don't need those things to remember, they just were comforting to have. And one day I came home and all my toys were gone, my parents had given them away without asking me.
My comics were stolen years later.
It hurt very much to have those things taken from me. And it angered me very much. I don't know why I was attached to those things, but ever since I've really not developed any attachment to anything. I keep no pictures except what other folks take of me or my life but I don't actively keep them. I won't say I wouldn't be mad if my games, consoles, etc. were taken from me but I wouldn't feel the same sort of hollow that those first things left me with.
Odd... I guess I felt that having those things, being able to touch them allowed me to remember how it felt to be a kid. I still have a few things from that time, but they're few and far between and none of them have that special feel... not anymore.
People talk about losing their childhood, or how x-movie/game/etc. has ruined/murdered it. I had my childhood ripped away in a casual action by my parents giving away my stuff... It was the day I knew I wasn't a kid any longer.

I had a Gizmo doll when I was little up until I had like fourteen years old. I was told by my parents that I should give it to my toddler cousin because he could still have some fun from it and I couldn't. They did not care it was a collectible :/ Parents...

They made you give it up?! o_O That's just wrong. Are you talking about the one with the furry body, plastic eyes, and cloth ears that felt like the fabric used on the roofs of so many cars?

I still have mine, thankfully, as well as the five Gremlins books/records that Hardees sold in '84.

Yup, that one! It came inside a box that replicated a cage and had instructions for taking care of Gizmo :) It was adorable.

My Copy Pokemon Blue. I let a friend borrow it and he then let someone else borrow it. He then moved away before I could make him give it back. It was the first game I had ever owned and I regret not being more assertive at getting it back.

Off the top of my head, my Hot Wheels Tornado Twister track set... Sure, for some reason, I didn't have the right cars to even complete the single lap around the whole track, let alone one that would be fast enough to ascend to the top to even continue down the track in general, even when I had fully-charged DD batteries working the motor the same way most Hot Wheels track sets work... But, damn did I feel like it had a kick-ass commercial to go along with it:
Plus, it started my on/off fascination with tornadoes in general... (Must be a reason why I like Sharknado, I guess... *shrugs*)

Other than that... My copy of Pokemon Emerald, since it did had every single Pokemon at the time listed on the National Pokedex, alone...

My kitty.

He's not dead (I really hope not anyway), my brother has him since when I moved (and by moved, I mean thrown out without ceremony) I couldn't take Garfield with me since the boyfriend's landlady said no pets (even though our downstairs neighbors have several). Even if we decided the landlady can go to hell, or if we move, I doubt that he'd let me have my cat back. Garfield is simply so lovable and friendly. And stupid (he tends to run into walls).

Two things come to my mind-

This Transformers/ Go-bot airplane toy I used to have when I was very little. I have faint memories of it and in some of the early photos of me, you can see me holding onto it! I want to know how I came to loose it???

This perfectly round transparent stone I once found on the beach as a kid. Seriosuly I found a perfectly round stone that could be used as a marble (well not quite but still) and I did kept hold onto it for several years. Sadly like the toy above, I too had lost it but that because I kept it in a special container which I lost that in the process when my parent moved out of the house when I went to University.

Many years ago I sold my N64 and Gamecube, thinking that I don't use them anymore, so I don't need them. For the last few years I've deeply regretted selling them, especially the Gamecube, which I collected a somewhat respectable games library for. I don't want to go and purchase one again, because I fear that the magic is long dead, and by bringing it back I'll only hurt the memories. I do miss it, though, playing the games on emulator isn't quite the same.

Although Super Mario 64 is getting really old...

Really? Lending away something he borrowed? That's not very nice...
