I started playing Red Dead Redemption, did the first few tutorial missions, then went on holiday for two weeks.

When I got back I'd completely forgotten you could whistle for your horse to come to you. Ended up spending hours in the wilderness waiting to ambush passing rider.

When I found out my expression was slightly more expressive than "Hah".

Back in the old days, when bits ruled the world, I accidentally figured a few fatalities for Mortal Kombat 3.

Guess you get lucky when you button smash, sometimes.

When I found out you can directly dump materials form your inventory into your collection in Guild Wars 2. Needless to say, my inventory was never crowded again afterwards. Hah!

in okami on the wii you can make strait likes using the z button. I never knew that til at least my third play though. I go use using the cut brush power using with out strait lines long before finding that out

i only discovered the drinking water thing myself 12 months ago because of a thread like this.

last night after playing hundreds of hours of new vegas i discovered you can ask victor to join the gun fight in good springs.. never realized until then
It has no actual effect on the fight though. But you can ask victor about him not helping after words and there will be a science skill check.
I played so much fallout New Vegas that I remember this small details.

I think I was aware of the water thing to an extent but I kinda forget about it. although it is not very often that you are near a clean source of water to drink from in new vegas anyway.

Second playthrough of Xcom before I learned you could rotate the maps with the dpad before starting actions.
