Why is it that Muggles should live in fear of Wizzards? They have wands and flying Broomsticks? We have the goddamn Atom bomb and Machine Guns, and we dont need to speak in order to fire one.

"Wingardium Levio-*ChaChink-Boom*"

Granted stand offs would look cool but be one sides.
You never read the Half-Blood Prince have you? They can cast spells without speaking they just need to think it.
Actually i have but that would kill the Comedic effect wouldn't it

In ethier case that just means there on par with the speed of a trigger finger.

Also, sci-fi dogfights and explosions in space. Anger.
What bothers me more are three things about space dog fights:
1. Lasers are slow moving, dodge able projectiles
2. That there is noise
3. When a ship is "shot down" it actually falls instead of floating around
(Star Wars is the biggest perp here but there are others as well)
And it's not like new discoveries anachronised these things, they were plain as day when the films were made. Star Wars gets off the hook for being awesome.
Indeed it does. I do not walk away from the original three thinking they were bad and unrealistic
The prequels on the other hand...
