Things that annoyed me ALOT about MW2

I'll start by saying this: I enjoyed this game immensely and thought it was well done.

Still there are several things that annoyed me about it:

The game was too gamer-fied. We now have trained professionals of the SAS on the battlefield with mohawks (Soap) and it seemed like a weak attempt to make it "cool". Oh and one of the SAS guys wearing a balaclava with a skull painted on it made him look silly to me.

Having the option to dual wield uzis and SHOTGUNS??!? I can accept dual smg's (just) but I doubt dual wielding shotguns is possible and certainly not practical. I'm all for it in multiplayer, its good fun. But in singleplayer it annoyed me.

The red dawn scenario was a little silly and overdone. It was around the time when I found myself battling through the whitehouse and the oval office that I thought to myself that the game was trying too hard to outdo itself and make it bigger and better than MW1. I got the same feeling when I was speeding on a snowmobile firing a glock at people gangsta style and doing massive jumps

Also alot points yahtzee made on ZP were valid (as usual) especially about the repetitions of shock and awe losing its feel.

MW1 was great because it felt plausible like it could actually happen under some extreme circumstances. MW2 went a bit overboard.

Also all the guns now look theyre made out of space age plastic and sound like it. But thats how the latest guns are made these days I guess. I just missed some of the more conventional weapons that actually looked like weapons.

That said I still enjoyed the singleplayer alot and the multiplayer is good fun with all the customizability. The maps are less structured and arena like how they were in MW1 which changes things too. The amount of kill streak rewards flying through air does make the game a little annoying at times. but I can live with that.

I understand it would be hard to for infinity ward to make a game as good as or better than MW1. people are undoubtdly going to dislike some things. doing more of the same was the safe way to go, and IW did it well, like only they could.

thoughts, comments or abuse anyone?

That game pisses me off so much.

Look at how many MW2 threads there are because of it!

I hate it!

[sub]Yeah, I'm joking[/sub]

I like the game, it's great in my opinion. It has flaws, but I don't mind

I agree, anything I could add would be repetitive.

One thing, a nuke in space would not affect the space station, that was the point where I thought the game had Jumped the shark/Nuked the fridge.

edit: the space station was several hundred miles away at least, more likely several thousand, so stop telling me I'm wrong and go look up the effective range of a nuke.

At least you are not the guy who moaned about camping.

Nothing really annoyed me about the game. Seeing as it is a game.

Also, paraphrasing ZP then kissing the series firmly on the rump was quite funny to read.
You think that guy was bad?

Try This guy

well I was never one to moan about camping. but thats a different discussion altogether

Yes I guess it was some ass kissing, but thats because I agreed with it.

Nice to see some people agree with me though.

1) they're not SAS, they're "141" which is a made up task force, myabe their uniform requirements are less strict. And with SOap they probably were going for "I bet you never thought he'd look like THIS"... although then they should have made him black, that would've been awesome.
2) I thought the shotguns you dual wield were sawn-offs so surely that's possible, you just won't get much accuracy.
3) invasion of america was ALWAYS going to be silly but most of my favourite games are silly, so I think it's a good thing.

So that's why none of those things bugged me.

Umm, yes it will. The radiation would vaporize everything in about a mile radius.

1. I'm in college
2. Fair enough, but regardless, the space station was like 2000 miles away easy, no nuke not even castle bravo would affect it at that distance.

I remember we were having that very debate here when the game first came out and a load of the sciency type guys came out, threw out a load of physics crap i didn't understand and came to the conclusion-they didnt know. It was rather amusing

And i agree with everything you said, but that didnt stop it being an enjoyable game. It just couldnt compete with titles like Dragon Age for my attention though

How about paying $60 for a game you play throughin a day or two, then the only thing left is multiplayer. From what everyonecomplains to me about, it's all about the multiplayer. Soooooo, did campaign mode just die? Halo had one, a good one at that, and yet it also have a long lasting multiplayer. Can't we just have both?
