There's an opposite thread next door, but it's a bit pointless,so i made this one. This thread is about stuff you can EASILY do in real life, but HAVE A HARD TIME doing in games.

Opening the locked doors (IRL,if you have explosives, you can blow it up,in games you cannot).

Intiminadion. In real life, you'll go far with a good word and a gun, while in game, you can't normally threat someone with a gun to avoid a fetch-quest.

Getting a shop discount when fate of the world is at stake.

Lulwut?

No, seriously, I have no idea what this means? We have a next door neighbor? So he's the one who's been hitting my dog! And just what is so pointless about the other one?

OT: Existing. Seriously, if you so much as exist in a video game you're sure to get screwed over, most likely in the first five minutes.

I'd say hop over small fences, crawl over rubble, walk through the brush...pretty much anything that developers like to use as an 'invisible wall' that is actually really easy to get past.

getting away with murder IE GTA
So it's easier to get away with murder in real life?
Easier than GTA IV anyways... Seriously those cops are impossible!

OT: Wielding a gun that shoots 8 mininukes. That ought to break some spines.

What's easier in life than in games? Kicking down doors that don't open, which will never open no matter how battered the wood is, no matter if you can see through the broken slats into the room beyond and you're pretty sure 1 good punch would take it down, and no matter how many grenades you throw at it, it will not open. Doors IRL all have a weakness, in games, sometimes they are invincible Gods of mystery

Wait. People play games to experience stuff that's HARD to do? Is that enjoyable? I'm not talking about playing on easy, but this seems a little silly. Games are an escape from reality.

Yes,people play games for escapism. But there's some stuff that's easier IRL - for example, destroying a locked wooden door.

So you say that it's easier IRL than in Fallout 3?

Navigating the world around you. Opening doors, moving over or around obstacles, and that sort of thing. For example, I was playing a shooter game, driving a tank. I came upon a small skinny roadsign and just drove right through it, not wanting to take the extra minute to go around it. But it wouldn't fucking move. A scrawny little metal pole in the ground stood up to a main battle tank.

Then there's getting stuck on walls and obstacles and stuff. Getting stuck like that would never happen in real life. It's much easier to go around, over, or under things in the real world than in games.

That's easier IRL? How so?
