Metal Gear Solid 4 - Numb Ass, you sat through every cutscene without skipping. Seriously that's a freaking life achievement there xD
copy-and-paste for Final Fantasy VII through XIII. Then again, I don't think you can skip cutscenes in the numerical FF games before XIII...maybe XII.

Nintendo Land should have an accomplishment for gold-staring any non single player game. I gold star'd the Metroid game all by myself because I play video games all by myself but it was awesome beating the Metroid thing all alone! Though not as satisfying as beating Crash Course first level...board...whatever.

I kinda wish the Wii U had a system-wide accomplishment screen/counter/...something. I think it might and some games have their own counter for stickers, accomplishments, etc but I would like a unified counter: like a Nintendo Brand high score screen or, trophy cabinet. Then again another part of me thinks I've been indoctrinated by the PS3 and X360's ACHIEVEMENT/TROPHY UNLOCKED tone.

Achievement for Windows:
Go 24 hours without an error message
Go 1 Week without an unexpected slow-down error.
Go 1 Month without being forced to hard-reset the computer
Go 1 year without calling your computer any negative name(s).

I feel the last one is the true test of time.

gee that was easy.... Windows isn't as unstable or crap as some people make it out to be. Of course these were with windows7, so maybe it's par for the course.

No matter what the sandbox, there should always be an achievement for hurling yourself off the tallest point on the map. We all end up doing it anyway, might as well reward it.
I second this one. Especially if the tallest point of the map is a pain to get to in the first place.

Achievements suck. There should be a checkbox in the options menu to disable them.
^this right here. Nothing tears you out of your in-game immersion than some stupid box popping up telling you about exploits you already know you've done.

100g - Saving the world as your girlfriend.

My girlfriend saved us all in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, she was The Special One. Although she didn't land the killing blow on the Uber Ethereal (missed an 88%), our friend Roddy avenged his late wife (lying dead at his feet) with a Plasma Sniper round and whispered "This is for Libby" (or rather I did lol).

I do think though that XCOM's achievements were pretty great overall, it needs more DLC!!
Slingshot was cool and I'm ok for some more mission packs of this size, as long as there is something meatier coming!
And more customization please!! Hats, beards, haircuts, helmets, armour decos and even colours/camos.

Sorry, went a bit off topic, I saved the world as my girlfriend, she was indifferent

Silently eliminate all security in one level of Hitman Blood Money. Yes I did this in You Better Watch Out.

I can't recall which in the series it was, but when the first or second Resistance came out, I went over to my best pal's place to play. He had already gotten pretty far into the campaign so I picked up where he left off. I encountered my first Titan and proceeded to bash his face in with melee attacks. I became so invested in it that I killed it using only melee attacks, which needless to say impressed my friend immensely. No trophy.

Also, in the same room there was a pool table with a full rack. After the skirmish I played a round by using melee attacks to sink the balls in. It was odd that the action didn't smash the table or launch the balls off but neither mattered.
