Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon series until they were completely ruined by Radical Entertainment and Krome Studios respectively. Radical screwed the crap out of the Crash characters so badly. They gave Crash those horrid tattoos, made him a cruel bastard who does that most lame slap stick humour I've evr seen and why the **** does he all of a sudden love pancakes? What happened tot he good ol' Wumpa fruit? Not to mention the horrible things they did to Tiny, I won't go into that. Plus they screwed up Aku Aku and Uka Uka and made them unrecognisable.

Spyro on the other hand got turned into some little whiney, pussy, scared shitless little wimp that is the complete opposite of his personality in the first Spyro game. Seriously "A New beinning", that is the biggest rip I've ever seen. They didn't re-create the Spyro timeline, they just took the Spyro charaters and setting and use them to create their own universe because they couldn't think of anything new thmesleves. They just didn't feel like Spyro games in any way and just screwed everything up. Enter the Dragonfly was better than them.

Lastly I have M. Night Shyamalan to thank for punching the greatness which was the Avatar series and making some half assed, poorly acted and otherwise pointless movie adaption. Seriously what was the fucking point of making the movie? To introduce it to other audiences? Gee you really did a great job there, now people will probably think the show is just as crap as the movie. And no I was not blinded by the "ooooo pretty special effects, oooooo". How the hell di they think they could fit an entire season of a show (not to mention a show where all episodes were needed to advance the plot) into one movie? Please don't movies for the other two seasons, you've done enough.

Finally Nickelodeon ruined my childhood by cancelling Kenan and Kel, Radio Active, Invader Zim and Saved by the Bell. Then introducing some of the worst shows I've ever seen, some that shall not be named here. Also the Spongebob series was great until season 4 where things started going downhill fast.

FOX ruined two of my favorite series. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about how much I would love to see the future of Firefly and Arrested Development

Speaking of Fox: Almost any British comedy/drama series that was taken to the states and then remade, such as (deep breath)
The Office
Life on Mars
Cold Feet
Coupling
The Apprentice
Hells Kitchen
Men Behaving Badly
Death at a Funeral
Not the 9 o'clock news

Mainly, a lot of great British humor American's just don't understand, but wanted to make a buck out of anyway.

The insertion of politics into like every TV show nowadays. I don't want to hear some stupid hack writers' opinions on gun control or abortion shoehorned into a crime drama.
Well, in fairness, a crime drama is probably a good place to discuss gun control, what with people getting shot with alarming frequency...
No.
No what? No, guns aren't used in many crimes? No, it makes no sense for police (or whoever the heroes of your chosen crime drama are) to have opinions on the law? No, people who deal with guns and gun crime on a regular basis would never advocate tighter control over who has access to firearms?

If Elmo gives a lecture on gun control, that's out of place. If cops in a crime drama talk about it, that makes perfect sense.
No, it isn't appropriate to discuss gun control during crime dramas because gun control has nothing to do with crime. Gun control is meant to protect the government from its own citizens, not the citizens against criminals.
Are you quite mad? Seriously.
Only if logic is madness. This isn't the place to explain how criminals by definition don't pay attention to the law, to include gun law, but maybe do some research on your own.

Point is, unless necessary to advance the plotline or a movie, book, or game, politics should be left out of things. Musicians do it too...every time I hear one of them enter into some political rant at a concert I think "you're pissing off at least 20% of your audience, you idiot."
Will you two take this outside? This isn't a forum for you to discuss your standpoints on gun-control laws in TV cop-shows.
Fact is, it's a political issue, so it should only be discussed in political shows. Cop shows deal with what is in place already, political shows deal with what is in the works, and such is life.

Star Wars got ruined for me in Attack of the Clones, when it felt like Lucas and co were resorting to cliches to shove the plot along as fast as possible. After that I lost all hope for Episode 3. (Okay, so a genuinely engaging and interesting plot would have resulted in a four and a half hour movie, but if it's good nobody will notice it's that long.)

Firefly's cancellation ruined it for me. Serenity did tie up *most* of the loose ends, but it felt too rushed to me.

Die Hard was ruined by 4.0's lack of factual accuracy. Complete lack of it.

Most of the films that have been ruined for me were either because the acting was bad or the plot was rushed in order to squish into a two-hour or two-and-a-half hour movie. I guess there's a lot of people who whine if a movie is longer than two hours and want directors and writers to sacrifice quality for a shorter movie.

If such is the case, then The Wire never aired.
Okay, Okay, It's not quite that cut and dry, but you know what I mean

Star Wars prequels/games. Some of the games anyway. Die Hard 4.0 I still enjoyed but it just got a little bit annoying with the jet plane. Also because of the fact that John DIDN'T SWEAR ONCE! I know it's a small complaint but come on, it's his character! You can't replace "Fuck head" with "jerk off" and expect the world to not notice!

I was quite enjoying "Lost", until I realized that the writers had no idea what they were doing.
Me too. I was really hooked in it for the first two seasons maybe, and then it just stopped interesting me.

I liked the first Matrix-movie, and in my opinion it didn't need any sequels.
Can't say it destroyed the first one for me, though.
I just pretend the sequels never happened.

Sure, but in the argument over whether it's naturalistic for politics to come up in a cop show, the most naturalistic cop show ever made is a pretty significant data point. And it's not the only one: when the DA on Law & Order goes after a gun manufacturer after a murder spree in Central Park, it's not like politics is being shoehorned in. It's a natural part of that kind of story, what would be jarring is if it didn't come up. So it seems pretty weird to say that cop shows avoid the subject by virtue of their whole mission as cop shows.
/conceded You make an excellent argument. I hope this will stop anyone saying "You're Mad" whenever the issue of gun control is brought up

Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim.

Three things ruined the series for me. First, no more randomly generated maps, the best part of the original game. Second, they seem to have stripped the franchise of ALL dignity. Yeah, the original had a lot of goofiness to it ("Majesty, I have good news and bad. The good news is your uncle died!" =D), but it could still carry drama and seriousness, unlike its successor. Thirdly, way to rape the actual lore of the game. The reason for things being so different is because one of the gods went crazy and screwed up everybody else, prompting them to start afresh. Which god was it?

It's Lunord, God of the Moon and Winds, THE BIGGEST HELP TO HUMANITY OF ALL THE GODS! The same Lunord whose Sacred Chalice appointed the first king of Ardania, saved the life of Ardania's greatest king, and allowed Lunord to express his will to humanity that HE AND HIS SISTER WERE ABDICATING TO THEIR KIDS! Yes, the same Lunord who saved humanity twice and willingly abdicated to his kids GOES MAD AND FUCKS EVERYBODY OVER! Not his father Krolm, the Lord of Rage! Not his son Fervus, God of fucking CHAOS!

NOPE! It's LUNORD, people! Humanity's greatest help goes crazy for no reason, screws up everything, and gets booted from the pantheon JUST SO THE DEVELOPERS COULD JUSTIFY THEIR SHITTY CHANGES!

I probably shouldn't get this mad over such an obscure character, but this is Character Derailment at its lowest!
