I don't remember where I found them (linked to them from a Bungie.net post) but it was this series of pictures taken in the woods, and in every other picture was this figure standing there. It was really creepy.

Also, the first time I played Prey was at 1 in the morning and it freaked me the fuck out in the beginning.

Oh, and Doom 3 is not a horror game, it's an extremely boring action shooter, with the possible exception of the Hell level being good.

I'm afraid Horror games get to me like no other medium for horror.
Believe me, I love the mythology & canon of the Silent Hill universe, but it's simply too scary to play.
Hell, even Doom 3 is too scary to play.

If you think Doom 3 is scary, get the Island of the Dead mod for Aliens vs. Predator 2.
I can't find any words for it right now, even though I only played for about 5 minutes, then quit.

Sunsets.
I'm not terrified of them or anything, but when I see the sun going down I get this weird sense of dread that I can't shake and I really need to find cover. Maybe it's a throw back to when the dark meant hunters were out. Once the suns goes down and it's dark, I'm fine. Not scared of the dark in the slightest.

Try playing The Cradle level from Thief Deadly Shadows, alone, in the dark. I didn't sleep at all that night.

Rocking back and forth.. Scariest movie scene I have ever seen.
I saw that movie when I was.. I can't remember how old I was. But that scene is forever burned in my mind.
I see it everytime Stephen King is mentioned,but.. I like and respect Mr. King for writing these stories. Even though he has permanently scared me for the rest of my life.

Biggest fears right now are heights, the ocean and snakes.
You're not meant to look down BUT YOU ALWAYS DO!.. and see the sharp rocks.. which would hurt... a lot... if fallen onto...
And the ocean is full of sea snakes, jellyfish, sharks and getting dunked is possibly the scariest thing ever because you get flipped and don't know which way is to the surface and then when you do get up you get dunked again and it's just bloody horrible.
And snakes are just vile creatures... running into a snake while hiking somewhere is freaking terrifying...

I used to be afraid of zombies too.
No dead serious, zombies.
When I was younger I was forced by family friends to watch them play their many zombie games with screaming and scary music and in the dark and urrgghhhh...
A 5 year old can't handle it.
But now I'm over it, thanks Left 4 Dead for curing me!

Blackouts 'round here (Small, eerie, allegedly haunted midwestern industrial town) actually make this place feel so much like Silent Hill that I want to "GTFO" as the kids these day say.

I cannot handle it. And yes, as silly as it sounds, the thought frightened me a little.

I'm a wuss, I admit it. But it is the only fear I have that is paralyzing.

On the subject of blackouts.

They are great fun if you have people around. But if your just on your own its depressing and boring.

Especially if it happens at say, 6 o clock, when its just about getting dark, but your no where near the time when you can go to sleep, then all you do is wait it out while finding candles or something.
