Stephen Fry; it's impossible to not find something to love about him!
Nah, there are a lot of people who don't like him, myself included. To be fair, I don't like him but, but what I hate is the ridiculous fanbase he has for being a ****

Have you guys not been on the internet? For the last 15 years I've never seen a metal band get as much hate as 'tallica

OT: There've been a lot of examples, but basically what it boils down to is the more mediocre things are, the less hate they will get, because people always want to be contrary when it comes to popularity.

I think rottentomatoes.com gets far to much adoration, for what is effectively a comparison website. Their un-scientific method of ranking films is irritating, and non representative of any for of quality. In fact, it favours mass appeal, inoffensive mush, which is not unlike the list of things on here XD Which is why Toy Story 2 is apparently the greatest film of all time

I can not tell you how much it hurts me to quote Family Guy because I think that the majority of it is insultingly bad but in this one instance it feels so right that I can overlook that.

'I did not care for The Godfather'
I can only hope this was some attempt at humour aimed at the 1st part of my post.
[sub][sub][sub]Not implying you like The Gothfather, but rather that you deliberately quoted me because of what I said[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Acually I hear people complain that They Changed Now They Suck! or all their songs sound their same! so really as popular as them they have a normal number of haters
...but doesn't stop me from wanting to see them live or buy their albums
O.T. I haven''t heard any hate about the other Big 4 (megadeth, slayer, and anthrax), mindless self indulgence, Iron Maiden, Judas Priests

Heavy Rain seems to get a lot of love, which is quite a feat considering there's a 2 minute scene in the game where you just sit there and watch a kid do homework. And it starts with 2 hours of walking around houses and setting tables and opening fridges and generally doing things that are basically the opposite of exciting or interesting in any way, shape, or form.
I agree, that slow start was a bit of a problem, but I persevered because the game very quickly took a nose dive into darker, more interesting detective noir territory.
I hope they hire less French sounding voice actors the next time, though!

That said, I loved the game. Truly gripping once I got past the 'put the dishes away' phase :p

Sliced Bread. Sitting there all smug and divided into equal parts...

You know what, though? Fuck sliced bread. So overrated. It requires no skill, there's no difficulty curve and it holds your hand through the sandwich making process. It's clearly for casual eaters, not hardcore eaters like me.

You just made my morning, thank you XD

OT: Shoes
Sure husbands might be annoyed with all of their wives numerous shoes, but it's hard to hate them.

Mass Effect.

I've yet to encounter anyone besides me who doesn't like that game.
You can count me in too. I haven't liked any game from Bioware, although Dragon Age was "ok".

On topic, Nintendo games seem to get no hate, regardless if they are good, bad or ok, or just look exactly like the last game.

NO ONE hates Wallace and Gromit.

Close second would be the movie, True Lies. Seriously, I've never met anyone, no matter what demograph they come from that didn't enjoy that movie.

This is so true. I love that series though.

Minecraft is also very much loved, along with Mass Effect.

If Anime was a religion; it's followers would destroy nations at a whim(not that religions don't already).
True, true, but then we get a lot of hate, to the extent that I'm what you could (I suppose) call a closet anime watcher IRL.

On Topic: Demotivational Posters, everyone loves them.

Indie-anythings.

I've never come across hate for an independent game, band/song or movie. They all seem remarkably praised for their artistic quality, individualism, deep personal meaning, structure, moral, intellectualism etc. etc.

Me, me! I dislike Bioware, Mass Effect especially.
... Why, exactly?
I hated ME1 for it's goddarn stupid AI, but ME2 was great.
Why Mass Effect especially? The storyline, the voice acting, the characters, the AI, the gameplay. Why Bioware as a whole? Their storylines, their voice acting, their characters, their AI and their gameplay. :D

Mass Effect just seems the biggest offender in their armoury of games to me. So far.
I....well.....then I guess I'd love a sample of what you like? Your list of why's would be exactly the same list of why I liked ME (both 1 and 2) so I need a frame of reference here to understand your tastes.

EDIT: I'll add Pixar to the list! I mean, I like some of their movies, but seriously, the stories they tell are about as exciting and predictable as watching two blind men duking it out in a UFC fighting arena.
