Too Human... I had heard so much about the development of that game, the techno nose myth aspect made me so happy and then i finally played it and... Well lets just say i have never been more disappointed in anything.

I think the biggest let down from hype for me ever was The Matrix: Reloaded. Went to world opening night screening, buzzed as fuck, and then i basically got this, and felt like this at the end of it.
Though yes.. as someone above mentioned: Spore was very close... all my things made with the creature creator that was released first couldn't be loaded into the game as they were too detailed.. and the game sucked...

Castlevania - Mirror of Fate on the 3DS. Total crap, and they were doing so well after Order of Ecclesia.
Also, Honey Pops. They started running ads for this stuff on UK TV and I jumped at the chance to experience a product that claimed to be - and I quote - "yum yum yum". I figured they would have been better than Golden Nuggets at least, but they were just so bland.

Fable...All of Fable. I never played Black and White so I had no starting point when it comes to Peter Molyneux and his tall tails. The original Fable was a game that I liked on the Xbox but it didn't do half of what Peter said it would be capable of. When it came to Fable 2, it claimed that all of the shortcomings of the first game would be addressed so hard that players could expect the perfect Xbox 360 game...that didn't happen either (though I did like Fable 2 more than the original somehow...) Fable 3...the less said of that piece of filth the better...It's like everybody went into Lionhead Studios with a bad case of Who-Gives-A-Shit and kept passing it on to each other. Then again, by Fable 3 nobody was going to be fooled by the false promises of the boy with a lion's head...

I didn't like what they did with Dragon Age 2 but that's kind of a polarizing example. I also didn't like what they did with Mass Effect 2 in terms of gameplay but once again: polarizing game. I didn't even have a 360 when that one was being hyped.

I forgot about this one...if Final Fantasy XIII was complete and only on the PS3, there may have been a Zoo/Casino thing but that horrible combat system would have stuck around...probably...Keiichi Morisato said:
Now that you mention it...I have fewer memories of Black/White than any other generation. Silver was my favorite but I still remember getting a lot more time out of Sapphire and, Diamond than I did with Black/White. Fingers crossed that X/Y will bring back a secret base at least.soandnb said:

Silent Hill 2. Don't get me wrong, damn fine, scary game, but the amount of people declaring it the best horror game of all time is completely out of whack with the game's actual quality.
Dune to me is a big one. When I finally got around to reading the first book I found it incredibly dry and boring, and the film wasn't much better.
The Star Trek reboot (Not even talking about Into Darkness here, which I refused to watch), which people told me was everything from pretty good to amazing, but I ended up despising from the bottom of my soul.
Speaking of things Benedict Cumberbatch is in (Or prequels to things he's in, I guess), Sherlock. It's another case of something that's pretty good, but I don't understand why so many people love it so much. Most of the components of the series are great, but every character is either an arrogant and unlikeable douche (Looking at you, Sherlock. And not in an endearing way either) or a complete idiot (Hello, everyone who isn't Holmes or one of the criminals), and I find it near impossible to watch.
All of Assassin's Creed. Given every single game in that series so far a spin, even got a good five or so hours into 2, and I've managed to squeeze enough fun out of that series to fill about twenty minutes of playing Team Fortress 2.
This last one's kinda weird in that I like the game, but I don't think it should've actually happened: Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As a sequel to what at the time of its release was my favorite game of all time (What's Invisible War? Is that a sci-fi channel original TV series?), it's bloody disappointing. As a game, standing alone, without the burden of being a Deus Ex game, it's pretty damn good. It deserves the praise it gets, but I wish it didn't get it because then maybe we'd have a more old-school style Deus Ex game. Now excuse me as I return to my home back in dreamland.

Dark Souls. Witcher 2. Bacon - Those fall into the "Good, but definitely not the pure distilled essence of awesomeness incarnate".

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. I was so excited to see the world revamped, the faction conflict reignited and new content being made. Well, I got those.
The revamped zones were decent (I was kind of an idiot to hype up leveling content in the first place), the faction conflict became incredibly one-sided in a number of ways for both groups, eventually leading into a horribly-written story about Deathwing, and the dungeons were overly difficult in the beginning to compensate for WotLK, to the point where they had to nerf them into oblivion. Unlike a good portion of players, I didn't mind the talent tree or race/class options.

It had nothing to do with going multi platform. It was more like the simplified and ironically confusing battle system, a system of corridors and Metal Gear Solid 2 levels of cutscenery. the game takes up like 4-6 Xbox 360 disks because of how big the game is, they had to cut major portions of the game in order to make the game commercially viable for the 360. had the game stayed on a PS3 exclusive the game would have been much better, with an at least decent story, and a much less linear game.FoolKiller said:
I disagree, I have read up to Angel Exterminatus which is the 23rd book in the HH series and I really like them. The only ones that have been hit or miss for me are the anthologies of short stories. But overall I enjoy them. Seeing the different primarchs and exactly how deluded, prideful, insane and noble they are really helps me to understand how the legions progressed. Some of the books in my opinion have been too short, a few too long but really to encompass a galaxy wide civil war would be a momentous undertaking. And no they haven't gotten to the siege of Terra yet, They are telling a lot of back story about the legions and primarchs to help set the stage. I don't want to spoil anything but the first Traitor Primarch just became a Daemon-prince. The rest of them except for Lorgar, Fulgrim and Horus are just beginning to see what Chaos is really. I loved the idea of Spore, and I wasn't the only one at the time. And even though I got it and played it, I was always like "This isn't quite what I was led to believe it was going to be...".
