50 Shades of Grey made loads of money. I did predict that a year ago. Damn Fan... moms?

Well surprise surprise. Why did I think that in the voice of Cilla Black? The more we get older, the more things just don't surprise us any more. Oh look, someone tried to offend me, meh. Oh goody, another war, blah. Wow, someone sent a dumb tweet, yawn. Marvel revealed a... I don't care. In this weeks HBO show, someone days, yeah we know. Here comes a side boob. You get the point.

What things don't surprise you any more?

You mentioned Marvel. Their post-credits stingers are so routine I don't care for them anymore.

Nothing surprises me anymore.

Another terrorist attack? Yup. A movie about abusive relationships makes a ton of money? Sure okay. It's snowing for the 5th time this year in my city? Fucks sake...[footnote]It's actually not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did >:V[/footnote]

Though saying that, I'm sure something will eventually surprise me. I'm just waiting for the universe to think of something either fucked up enough or nice enough to knock away my cynicism for a while.

Like if someone turned up on my doorstep with a ton of different puppies for me to look after for the day. That'd surprise me. Someone should do that.

People being killed. I have just seen so many articles about people getting killed that I've just gotten jaded to it. I don't know why Sandy Hook got so many people riled up, to me it was School Shooting #95. Bit late to be getting worried about it now.

Frankly I hate that I feel this way, but I can't exactly make myself more sensitive to it again.

Also every attempt on the internet to have a discussion about equality turning out to be a mess. I just take that as a given nowadays.

Ouchie. What a stinging criticism!

OT: After about the seventeenth time I hit myself in the crotch with a heavy book, I found I was no longer surprised by the fact that it caned like a bastard.

I was gonna go about how Nick Fury showing up at the end of everything isn't surprising, but I double-checked and he "only" does this 3 times (RDJ replaces him in the Hulk movie, but it's the same MO - "I want to talk about Avengers, coming 2012").

If they stop doing it - whenever they do - it'll disappoint people, you know. No surprise lasts forever, which is why it isn't a surprise any more. Now, it's just a fun thing they do. Easter eggs.

I forget, but didn't they NOT do it in Guardians of the Galaxy?

They did, in fact - I understand it had the effect of a toaster to the head for a lot of people.

People being utterly uinformed on the subject of history and to lazy to check things up before posting questions or statements.

Christians expecting special treatment compared to everyone else, seriously... You are no different from hindus, buddhists, taoists, pagans or anyone else. Please stop expecting society to cater to your every whim just because you once murdered your way to the top, it is not a moral high ground.

White middle class cis feminists complaining that they are not being pandered to enough and that minorities are stealing the spotlight from them. Girls, it isn't a popularity contest (at least is is not supposed to be).

Fatally glaring flaws in AAA games that would be easily fixed if someone just bothered. The Gomorrah Casino in Fallout: New Vegas permanently stealing your companions weapons, including the unique ones is one example. The inability for a combat group in Shogun: Total War to stand in a straight line side by side is another.

Didn't know that, I went to a press screening and nothing played after the credits.

IIRC From Bob, they specifically cut the easter egg for the press screenings, because they didn't want it leaked.

The effort people continue to put into denigrating Anita Sarkeesian.

People who take a tragedy as an opportunity to push their personal political agendas, immediately after the tragedy has happened

Dishonesty within the real news media.

Politicians flipping on issues to serve their ends.

How much the GoP bends backwards to please Koch Industries.

How much the GoP straight up lies to denigrate Obama.

How unwilling the Democrats are to call them out on any of this.

How neglectful and self-serving my boss can be.

How awesome sometimes people can be regardless of all this suckiness in the world. Seriously, this is why I subscribe to the Humans of New York Facebook page. So much awesomeness there. And just this Saturday I read Green Eggs and Ham to a random girl at Walmart who was sitting next to me in the Vision Center while I was waiting to pay, because she was so friendly and excited at the chance to have it read she asked me, "Do you like Green Eggs and Ham?" And I was like "I love Green Eggs and Ham!" So I read it and she was so happy, and her mom was happy too. So yeah, sometimes people suck, but sometimes they're awesome too, and I never want to be surprised by that.

My reflection. I used to be terrified of what lurked in my bathroom mirror. Now it's just routine and I no longer break the glass in fright.

Game developers straight-up lying about the quality of their games and how much effort they put into them. I expect them to be effectively unplayable until at least 2 patches in. I also expect these same games to push season passes and massive amounts of DLC like nobody's business even though they did everything wrong and definitely don't deserve that kind of loyalty they will inevitably receive.

GM vehicles being shit yet still in production despite not being much cheaper than foreign products.

German car interiors being nice to look at but not fun to sit in. The seats really suck even in $150,000 + vehicles.

My goddamn Ford Taurus chewing through yet another powersteering system in the middle of fucking winter. Pile of shit.

My dachshund barking at nothing. Annoying yet cute.

Blatantly implied hostility on the Escapist.

People blatantly lying to my face.

And people not being at all embarrassed when called out about the fact that they were blatantly lying to my face.

But but, you can easily forgive them cause that is what they think and assume is right. I know your annoyance to well. Worse answer to get from them is, "oh well". Talk about a slap in the face.

It would be easier to list the things that would surprise me. Can't really think of anything, well winning a lottery would be quite a shock..
