It already exists. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human]

...and I'm going to say `Doomsday Device'. As long as I get to control it. Bwahahaha, etc.

Humans are not machines, therefore your joke falls flat.

Where did the sound guy go? I need that "Wah-wah-waaah" effect.

A machine is any device that uses energy to perform some activity.

...all we are is devices that use energy to perform activities.

(Why yes, I am a pessimist).

Edit: even better quote:
OED; Machine said:
A structure regarded as functioning as an independent body, without mechanical involvement.

I think an omni-tool would be great. They can be used a torches, translators, data storage, computers, transmitters and you can even play games on them.
Someone beat you to that with the mobile phone.
Not really, a phone can't scan things and instantly pick up data from them or give commands to randomly discovered machines, and i can't apply medicine, as well as a bunch of other stuff.
Also a mobile isn't holographic. And it doesn't work well as a torch.

I'd take down a whole area code for an Iron Man suit.
isn't this the exact reason why stark never releases the information and specs of the suit?

Oh and how about Cold Fusion

Actually pretty much any life form could be described as a biological machine, since all life forms use energy and perform some sort of activity. Highly sophisticated biological machines, but still machines.

They can scan barcodes and defer the contents of an image taken on the camera. It's only a small step from that to taking a picture of something and being instantly told what it is. Smartphones can tap into wireless networks and then interface with other machines, some people even run servers from smartphones. It's true that they can't apply medicine, but then what medicine is there to apply? Adrenaline? It's not a big leap to tape an epi-pen to the side of a phone. Presto!

It's true they're not holographic, but they can project. They also have touch screens.

And my friend's nokia is a kick-ass torch.

Really, I don't think they're that far away from Omni-tools. With current technology you could probably make one yourself. It wouldn't exactly be refined, but it would work. =D

A mechanic pancreas. I'm not talking insulin pumps here, I mean a device the same size and shape as a regular pancreas that makes, MAKES, insulin for you. And it's powered by a miniature nuclear battery.

So I guess those as well.
My brother would appreciate that one.

the mutant gene from X men don't ask how
Hmm... yes :) Except then it would be accessible to everyone, and that could cause problems. Still... it would be pretty bitchin'.

Humans are not devices, they are living organisms.

Wiktionary said:
Device

1. Any piece of equipment made for a particular purpose, especially a mechanical or electrical one.
Also, I too have a definition from OED

machine

an apparatus using mechanical power and having several parts, for performing a particular task.
