things that seem to get worse

this is something i thought up just off the top of my head a and i wanted input about, are things just steadly getting worse? this can be music, games, movies what ever. the thing that made me think of this is i recently lisend to linkin park's(for the first time in about 6 years)new song and i thought "wow this is naff". this then made me think of games that have been sequiled for along time(dont ask me how i had that thought i have no idea)

what do you think are some things getting worse or is it just things should just stop when they are good?

Things getting worse, like music or films or whatever, is always nothing but a matter of opinion. Personally, I can't think of anything recently that's getting 'worse', per se, though I guess in any industry there will always be some stagnation over time, before a new idea is thought up that's innovative, and then things will pick up before steadily stagnating again for a while. It's just a cycle, that's all there is to it .

Everyone always thinks things are getting worse. This is because you only remember the good things, but all the shit happening now is still fresh in your memory. So in your mind it used to be better, but there was enough crappy to go around even back then.

I'm certain that people will mention old cartoons, even though half of them wren't good and the other half were entertaining back then, and are entertaining to rememmber and get nostalgic about, but not at all entertaining to actually watch. For instance, I used to like watching Cow and Chicken, but now it bores me silly. And Fairly Odd Parents, for instance, might give the impression of being a typically cheap new cartoon when in fact it's the same quality as those old Cartoon Network shows.

Childrens cartoons. I may just be picky. But I grew up with the original Pokemon, Digimon, Bugs Bunny and all those things. Now whenever I'm babysitting my little cousin and they watch tv the shows all suck.

Music. Auto-tune. If I see one more Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Milley Cyrus, Lil Wayne, NEW Eminem, or any other rap, pop or "club" music, in a status on Facebook I'm done. Which sucks because Beiber just came to Edmonton.

Not really. In fact, I think this was a great year for movies and games with Inception, Scott Pilgrim, and Iron Man 2 on the movie side and games like Dead rising 2, Fallout New Vegas, Civ 5, and a bunch of other games being released this year. Let's just hope they keep getting better as well.

God I hate cynics. There's very few things I can think of that's worse than it was before.
Overpopulation and climate change are the only things I can think of.

It's like staring at a trainwreck in progress; it's that kind of interesting.

On topic: Music. Good God...I'm afraid to turn on my radio. Seriously. I haven't willingly turned on a radio for a solid year now. ALL of the offerings around here suck!

To be fair, I've found most music made during my lifetime not to my liking. It's not even an issue of genre; I just find older music better on average.
Not sure why I see it that way, really.

This is probably because you are getting older, I used to feel like this about most things. Just cherish the good times, for example, I rarely listen to music in the charts because you can't beat the classics. I play my retro consoles more than my current gen ones and the cinema rarely appeals to me, I still use VHS over my DVDs.

At the end of the day, it is all based on your own opinion. The only thing that saddens me is when our generation goes, the music/games/movies that are current will become classics for our kids and most of them will never appreciate the classics we have now.

Music is loosing quality pretty fast it seems. Mightbe the total amount of quality is still equal, but it is spread over a lot more.
Recently i got some cds by Pink Floyd and Freddy Mercury solo, and it's amazing how good it used to be.
