It also took me way too long to see how the D in the Disney logo actual is a D. I though it looked like some weird backwards G.
I'm guilty of that one, too.

Also, me and my two brothers got stuck in the very first dungeon of Link's Awakening on the good ole Game Boy. Had to go look around on a gaming magazine to realise we could push blocks. That was our first Zelda game.

When playing Metro 2033 I for some reason forgot about medkits completely and didn't relies you could press y to use them till right at the end. Would have made the game much easy if I had known that.
I replayed Baldur's gate and only just realized that Tamoko is with Sarevok at the beginning of the game. She hits you with a very low damage spell (only 1 hp) and Gorian uses sleep on her rather than killing her. Foreshadowing!

and plenty of other things but...I can't remember any right now.

Took me ages to figure out the Game Freak logo is a G and not a spiral/fossil/dildo/fish/surfboard etc.

Well if it makes you feel any better even knowing it's suppose to be G, it still doesn't look like a G to me.

I was convinced that Skyrim was set in an alternate universe earth, During the middle ages. And one the other day i was playing, it was night and i looked up

"Holy shit, Two moons"

Turns out, I'm a moron who doesn't pay the slightest attention to lore, Because all my friends laughed at me for it...
It's all right man, I have no idea why you got laughed at either. Who needs lore? :p But seriously why is there 2 moons or whatever?

Took me ages to figure out that you could holster weapons in Fallout 3. I knew from loading screen tips that you ran slower with guns drawn, but I figured it was just the price I paid for... having a gun drawn? Wasn't until a friend was over and he told me to hold down the reload button that I even knew it was a thing.

Similarly in Fallout, that same friend had to tell me that I could hold the Use key and continuously drink from fountains/lakes - I had been doing sip by sip with single button presses.

That game really needs a button-holding tutorial or something.
Yeah, it took me forever to work out that you could holster non-melee weapons in New Vegas (I haven't played FO3). I'd switch to fists, holster them (that doesn't sound right with fists, but I can't think of the right word), then switch back to my gun. I think I discovered you could when I leaned on the key or something.

Apparently it's set on a planet called "Nirn" And the two moons are Secunda and Masser (According to the wiki anyway :p)

Being a trekkie, it gave me the idea of an awesome crossover episode where the Enterprise/Voyager/Defiant comes across the Elder Scrolls world, and the climax could be a dragon vs shuttle dogfight!

Kreia is the Handmaiden's mother

It's actually not obvious, the pieces to the puzzle are scattered throughout the game, and I didn't even realize it until someone else layed it all out before me. But make no mistake, the pieces are there, and when put together... [http://lparchive.org/Knights-of-the-Old-Republic-II/Update%2058/]

Sure as hell blew my mind, and made me love and appreciate the game even more.

It took me like, 6 months to figure out the mechanics to beat the final boss of Blinx: The Time Sweeper. In his third phase he goes completely immune to standard attacks and starts spamming you with Time Controls. It turns out you had to counter his Time Controls with your own 4 times to finally defeat him. I was so fucking proud of myself when I finally figured that out and it's still one of my all time favorite boss fights ever.

And still one of my favorite games ever, for that matter.

In Metal Gear Solid 4 I had no idea you could sprint. I always thought Snake just moved slow because of the aging. Got to Act 5 without even realizing I could. XD
Wait, you can sprint in MGS4?I made my way through the game by crouch-walking and I had no idea you could sprint.
I know you hold down one of the sticks..forgot which one but I know your can sprint xD I found out during the vamp fight when I needed to grab him.

My brother didn't know you could repair weapons in Fallout 3 with other weapons until he had beaten the game and spent a substantial amount of time at it. He realized when I was playing and repaired a weapon using another and his jaw dropped open. He was using vendors to repair them so it cost him most of his money just keeping his weapons in good shape and they could never repair the weapon as much as you could yourself especially near the end of the game.
