I'm sad and upset now. Nothing is taking my mind from it. Music is usually my help but not this time.

I turn to alcohol. I also suffer from depression.
A vicious circle.
Yeah, I suffer from depression as well.
I'm sorry to hear that. It can get really rough at times.

What kind of music usually tends to help you? Sometimes happy or depressing music only makes it worse, as is my case.

A knife.

A craft knife to be precise. I have a habit of seriously modifying Warhammer40K models. Something fiddly and pointless :D takes the mind off things.

I just listen to some music or play my guitar; both do wonders towards making me feel better.
Seconded.
Nothing makes me feel better then playing my acoustic guitar in my room with the door shut.

Anything I generally enjoy doing, like taking a long drive while listening to music, play the drums for a while or watching one of my favourite films. I've I'm really upset I avoid video games cos if a game then gets on my nerves, that makes me frustrated and, in turn, more upset. But I rarely get upset, I'm a very happy person

Nothing, I usually wait it out or I'll be a downer for everyone else. I sleep a lot, or confine myself to my bedroom.

Might I recommend finding a band that has a very angry sound to it, even if it's only for the purpose of listening to when feeling down? Angry-sounding music seems to be the only kind of music that can cheer me up when I'm down.

Whenever I'm down, or had a bit of a bad day, this still makes me grin like an idiot and get all exited like I'm five years old again.

Music. It depends on the exact circumstances, but lately I turn to 'Fade to Black' by Metallica and various covers of it (especially Apocalyptica).

You hear a voice call out from the distance, "Anytime anyone needs a good word, just use the magical 'Quote-Whistle!'" followed by a 'Swooshing noise.'
