This is something that has been bugging me ever since I first started playing online games way back in 2006. Throughout the years there have been several things that irritated me on a wide spectrum, causing reactions from minor irritation to near-homicidal rage. The thing that drives me to homicidal rage is by far my biggest gripe of all of them: Campers.

They are soulless cheating a-holes. It requires very little skill to camp, all you have to do is sit in a corner by a doorway and press the right trigger when something moves, and repeat until someone finds a way to push you out of your little camp spot. It's one thing to camp in one spot when you have a sniper rifle, that I can tolerate, but when someone hides and shoots with anything else, it pisses me off. Its hard for me to explain what I mean since I'm still aggrivated from a 10 match losing streak that I (for lack of a better word) encountered thanks to campers. That's all of my rant for now. And I don't want to hear one person say to me, "Oh you're just butthurt because " because that is some serious BS!

I hate stupid people. The ones who purposely bring your team down.

Also, older brothers who let their ten year old sibling play in a high-ranked match where you really want to win.

EDIT: Ninja'd. :(

I tend to hate campers as well, but I do recognize it as a legitimate strategy.

Besides, every once in a while they may want or try to move, but people keep bum rushing them and driving them into the same spot.

I also hate people who think they're better than everyone else on earth because they're good at a game. It's a game, you aren't f'king Jesus, so get off your pedestal. This frequently occurs with 10 year olds.

Lag, CTD, glitchers, cheaters, rascists and pricks. Other than that, multiplayer is freaking awesome.

People who berate me for not healing them despite the fact that they are suicidal.

I'd rather heal those who have a shot at winning the round than those who just give the enemy points.

And we have a winner for the 'Captain Obvious of the Decade' Award!!!!!

But to say them all, a list if required:

-Campers
-Hackers
-Ragequitters
-People that let your team down
-Any sort of person not mature enough to realise that acting 'cool' (actually like a douche) makes you look like a douche.
-All sniping teams (unless the match is meant to be sniper-orientated)
-10 year olds, THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE A FUCKIN' LIVE, PSN OR AND INTERNET-CONNECTIBLE USER!
-Finally, continual team-swappers. Come on guys, it's really bloody pathetic. Sit on a side, and stay. Like a dog. WOOF.

What annoys me about games that put heavy budgeting into the multiplayer aspects of games is that you can find your time ruined by your competition, be it through cheap tactics or the fact that they put a lot more time into the game than you do (one has to remember that in a single player game, enemies are meant to be defeated. They are destined by the game's preset difficulty curve to go down at some point. Such is not a guarantee when PvP gets thrown into the mix). I play a lot of FPS (Halo, CoD, BF, etc.), but I always make sure to have at least half of my game library consisting of single-player games.

I'll play the devil's advocate here and say that in a competitive FPS, there will be people that have more of their fun riding on the victory or their K/D than others, and as such will take advantage of these things. Is it the player's fault? Partially, he is the one doing it. But on the grander scale it's the developer's fault for enabling such actions to take place to begin with.
In giving the players the tools to camp (or the lack thereof in combating camping), they place camping on par with other styles of play as effective tactics to win, and that is what people will try to do in such a competitive style of game.

EDIT:
For what it's worth, I don't camp. I find the faster pace of run n' gun more entertaining and the fact that they might be at an advantage through their tactics a challenge to overcome, which adds to the fun competition (I love competition, but only friendly competition. You start bursting blood vessels and you get the mute :/).

EDIT 2:
As for what irks me in specific, people who use objective gametypes to pad their K/D ratio. You know the types, who wouldn't do anything for the objective if it was right in front of them, instead choosing to prey on the people that are busy working towards it and are easier targets because of it.
