Thats the problem, youve seen the first and second one, which are shittier than the prequels.
I'm a big prequels fan, but there is no one in the world who considers Empire to be worse than the prequels (although I think Episode 3 is on par with it).

Mass Effect - Played it a few times, tried to get into it multiple times, but I just don't like it. It's a shame because I was looking for a nice Sci-fi shooter type game to play.

Gears of War - I think the reason I didn't like this was because (in my opinion) it tried way too hard to be serious. Plus I couldn't tell what I was shooting at because the grey enemy chose to stand in front of a grey wall. Surprisingly I enjoyed the sequel.

I just have to post this and say I love your avatar Vault101, I've been trying to find the Foottrot flats books but cant find any!

On topic:
Most games like Penumbra I can never really get into, Deus Ex is something I've also never gotten into even though it is slightly similar to System Shock 2 which I enjoyed quite a bit! ^.^
Why thankyou, yes I imagine they would be quite hard to comeby nowdays, I think Ebay or buying online is your best bet, I;ve also noticed some books in bookstores

Ya Mass Effect is in essence a story based RPG, with a splash of combat on the side.
That is in fact why I liked it over the second one, where they chopped off half of the RPG parts.
But it isn't a very polished game, many many faults and issues, so if you're not in it for the story you shouldn't bother.

Anyway, I never got the whole Halo thing, I played them all for some time, but it never drawn me back, story isn't that interesting(seems very generic, or it was just told that way), the combat is fine but then there are better shooters out there... so I don't really understand the whole hype around it.

I just can't get into Halo or any MMORPS. I play Halo multiplayer whenever my friends need someone but other than that I'm just not interested. I don't like MMORPS due to the grind and monthly fees.

RTS - I don't have the patience or discipline to do well.

Anime - I see random episodes that my housemates are watching and think "yeah, that's quite good" but can't seem to stimulate myself to pick a show that works for me and try to watch it all.

Lost - I have the first two seasons on DVD that were given to me for Christmas a couple years ago and even though I know that it ran its course (rather than having the plug pulled and ending incomplete) I just can't seem to get in to it.

Mass Effect - I watched friends play and liked the look of it but (and maybe this is because I am doing something wrong) it seems too much chatty and not enough..action of some (any) sort. Talk less and let me play with it, please. I fear that I am missing out.

Let's see...
1. Watching (not playing ) sports and everything involved with watching.
2. DA:O, the game felt like there was way too much of it based on random chance, which takes all skill and strategy out of it.
3. Star Trek. I loved Next Generation (Picard is a sexy man) but I just can't get into any of the other series.

James bond - I got flak for this last time i mentioned it but I generally find myself getting bored 10 minutes in and doing something else.

Lord of the rings I got into and read the first ovels but just couldn't get into the return of the king set. I can't really watch the movies either because I find that they seem the drag on for a little bit too long on certain parts.

Fallout 3. I keep making myself play it, and then I stop and play something else because I'm bored.

Well, there are a lot of movies I'm not able to get into. Most of them are just because I'm not in the mood at that time, and later delete them while, again, not in the mood to watch them, and I think "I'm never going to watch it anyway".

May have been discussed before but yeah I'm bored sooooo

Lord of the Rings- I've said this before no matter how much the geeks gush over it I just couldn't get past the second book they are just written so boringly, (I did read the first one so mabye that gives me a little credibility) I don't mind the movies, as far as high fantasy goes I actually prefer dragon age origins (gasp!) then I tried to read the hobbit and I couldnt do it.
Even though I've never read the books (though I love the movies), I have read The Hobbit, and I liked it. Also you mentioned it being "written boringly" as one of the main flaws of the LotR books, yet The Hobbit wasn't.

I kept comparing it to dragon age and I realised while I hated the combat (Yeah pretty much the "game" part) of dragon age, I fell in love the the setting story and charachters...
I had the exact same thing!

Vault101 said:
Bladerunner- seen it a few times, yes I'm sure its amazing, though I;m not surpresed people were unsure about it back then, They were expecting a cool sci fi action flick and instead got a bunch of weirdness turned up to 11 (greatest sci fi film of all time weirdness though)
So...where does the whole "couldn't get into" fit in?

Vault101 said:
Star wars- I did see the first one, yes it was awsome second one pretty cool havnt seen the third one, I wont bother with the prequels.
You've liked every Star Wars movie you've seen, and just "haven't bothered" to watch the rest. Yeah, again, "couldn't get into"?
You didn't even fucking try!

Vault101 said:
Devil may cry- I dunno it just feels like a god of war clone...
Fucking fuck. I hate when people pull off this shit. The first Devil May Cry was made in 2001. God of War was first released in 2006. Two thousand and motherfucking six!

Vault101 said:
Jackie Brown- one of Tarantinos lesser known films, Ill have to watch it again I think at the time veiwing conditions weren't perfect
Again, "couldn't get into"? As far as I know, not being able to get into something is the nagging sense that you yourself don't want to experience it. Outside distractions not included.

Vault101 said:
Ratatoullie- usually I love anything pixar, I don;t mind this film but I just couldn't get into it as much as the others I can't really say why though
Okay, first one I can accept, even though I, myself, loved Ratatouille.

Vault101 said:
Deus ex- yes this game is awsome and amazing but theres somthing about the graphics that kinda creep me out
So, you played the game, thought it was awesome, yet you claim you "couldn't get into it", because you're not fond of the graphics? You couldn't get into it, even though you (probably) played it through?

Vault101 said:
Iron man 2- I was actually bored with this? I shouldn't be bored during an Iron man film
Okay, again, a fair example.

Kingdomm hearts- those big yellow shoes.....just kinda put me off (I'll try again though I promise).
A pair of shoewear put you off a game? Man, are you one picky dude.

things I can't get into?

skilless button mashers (Brawl)
instrument emulators (Guitar Hero/Rock Band) ((probably because I can play the REAL THING!))
grind quest MMORPG's (WoW)

I'd have no problem with an Epic action'y MMORPG **looks hopefully at Fallout Online and questioningly at Dead Frontier** but come one people "kill 8 of this" "collect 12 of this" AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!

and yes I am aware that Dead Frontier does that too, but the quests are a side plot for that game while the main of it is "grab some friends - kill some zombies"

Not only was I not able to enjoy it, I thought Bioshock was total shit. I even played through it a second time just to be sure I was missing something the first time and still hated it. I guess I just don't like the idead of extremely limited ammo combined with enemies that take more hits than an M1 tank, and I'm not talking about the Big Daddies.

As for films, I never got why people like tarantino. They seem exactly like Michael Bay films that had the explosions replaced with gore, at least the ones I've seen.
