Whatever, just wash your hands.
The lizard bird thing that Obi Wan rides in episode 3. I despise everything else about that movie but that lizard thing is cool to the point were I've been tempted to get a toy of it.

Okay, just remembered something else from Family Guy, namely from the episode " Back to the Pilot".

Stevie and Brian go back to the very first episode and this happens:

I love it, it's so freaking meta!

In this episode, Brian takes the chance to warn his past self about 9/11 (Oh, like you wouldn't do the same thing! I know I would, though I'd have to find another person to warn. Nobody would listen to a grade schooler). So Brian manages to avoid the disaster, but when the pair go to the future, they find everything has gone to hell.

It's an interesting thought: sure, we would like to go back and change history for the better, but we don't know what kind of ripple effect that will have. Is it really worth it, in the end?

...Yes, I know this is still Family Guy. I take my deep thoughts where I can get them!)

Wonder Woman film. I hate the DCEU and think its a complete dumpster fire of a mess, but that film, despite a few issues, was really good.

The Yoda lightsaber fight was pretty cool in that movie. It finally made Yoda a badass instead someone so weak like in the originals.
Agreed- not that I had any problem with the "orignal" version of Yoda. Kind of makes me wish they'd do a prequel featuring him, rather than that "meh"-looking Han Solo one. Or more Obi-Wan Kenobi, for that matter.

The scene in Spider-Man 3 of the Sandman putting himself back together is possibly the most emotionally evocative CG-dependent scene ever done in a live-action movie, despite so much of the movie being a mess.

Equilibrium, like most of the director's work, is basically just a thin plot onto which to choreograph fight scenes... but damn if Christian Bale doing Gunkata in that trench coat ain't cool.
Definitely. Spider-Man 3 is a mess, but there is a bunch of things I like: good direction, great special effects, the acting worked very well and has some decent action scenes. Also yes, that Sandman transformation scene is just beautiful visual storytelling. Sadly it doesn't help by a really poor script.

It's a sickly horse that I've beat a couple times over the years, but one I can't not bring up, because I really do love this concept:

So, there's a series of extremely obscure japanese RPGs called the "Agarest" series... and they're really bad... but they have this one awesome gimmick that I've never seen anywhere else.

Basically, depending on the game, its story takes place over the course of 3-5 generations. the protagonist of each generation has a point toward the end of his individual story where he chooses a wife, and the wife chosen dictates the appearance and fighting style of the hero of the next generation. Pair up with the squishy mage chick? Next generation you have a magic knight. The no-nonsense warrior lady? Next generation you have a heavy-armor tank.

likewise, there's a niggle in the story that at the end of all the generations, if the hero isn't born, he won't be able to fight the final villain, and thus the world will be destroyed. What this means is that the girl a generation's protagonist wants to procreate with will be willing to do so, even if she's not super-duper fond of the guy, which is where the dating sim elements (because, again, niche japanese game) come into play. The more the parents love each other come the end of one generation, the higher the stats of the offspring next generation. I... don't know how that works, really, since both parents die after the baby is born, but it adds more customization to the game regardless.

between those two systems, the game has a mechanic that creates a ton of replayability just to experience the different character builds and relationship options, as well as a system you can use to create a handicap for yourself if you're the kind of gamer who's into that.

...or rather, the game has a mechanic that WOULD create a ton of replayability... if I could conceive of a scenario where anyone would want to subject themselves to a second playthrough of an agarest game.

Dragon Age Origins. An uninteresting slog that I eventually finished a year or 2 after I bought it when extremely bored and unemployed over winter.

But, Zevran...Zevran was the one thing in that game that I liked.

I?ve no shortage of disdain for the Assassins? Creed franchise (AC IV: Black Flag being the one, standout title and for all the reasons that WEREN?T Ass Creed-like,) but I DO like how organic and natural their open worlds are insofar as the hustle and bustle of the ambient life; even if there?s nothing much of note to do within them, they?re still pretty and believable.
