I like...

-Niche games, Notably, Shiren the Wanderer and other mystery dungeon RPGs. Oh what, an RPG that is ACTUALLY a challenge/isn't mindless grinding? No wonder everyone hates it -_-

-The Front Mission and Tactics Ogre series. Everyone I know of HATES TBS'es in general, but those that like them never really seems to like these gems (maybe because later iterations sucked, but that's debatable)

-Asian music games. Yeah, Rock Band is a fun experience, but I always loved DDR (which is somewhat popular), DJ Max Online/Portable (REALLY popular...except in the states), and IIDX (which makes most Americans go "lol whut?")

-Unofficial multi-purpose tools. People seem to go gaga over random crap like the iPhone, because "You can do everything you want with this." But the second I tell them about modding/hacking a PDA or even a DS to do the same things, they get all pissy. The few friends that are into that sort of thing don't want to use it for anything other than modding consoles and pirating games. I try and tell them about reading books on a DS, they're like "Psh, gimme games -_-."

-Dancing. Seriously, it'll make me sound like I'm a flaming homo, but I don't get clubbing culture. You get dressed, go out, get drunk, maybe flirt, and then go home, maybe with somebody. There's FRIGGIN' MUSIC BLASTING IN THE CLUB, AND ALL YOU WANT TO DO IS DRINK BY THE BAR? I like to dance, with or without people, and I can't stand it when all people do is hang around in groups with each other, drinking and talking.

-Writing. I've written books (and am trying to get one published), and it annoys me when people complain about "oh 2 page papers QQ". Yeah, I'm a bit obsessive, but seriously, do your effin' work.

-Not being defined by identities. Yeah, I get it, you're trying to be an engineer/doctor/lawyer/etc., you're "smarter/more disciplined/going to be richer/etc." than me (and my lousy English/Linguistics/Cultural Studies triple major -_-). Do I really care? No, but most people want others to be envious of the identity they buy into. (Getting a bit rantish here, so I'll stop)

I think mathematics is beautiful, whereas somewhere between half and two thirds of my students consider me deranged.

I like Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and almost none of my friends do. I'd consider myself borderline-obsessed, actually.

Let's see... Oh, I like the Windows Classic theme, even on Vista. I never meet anyone who uses it, but I like its look and use it on all my machines.
YES!! I'm with you brother! I thought I was the only one as well!

The windows thing that is, not your weird TV show

A thread where you're allowed to like unpopular things? Beware, threads like this don't last long around here. This forum is for hating popular things, not liking unpopular things.

Anyway:

I still like Digimon, although season 3 (Tamers) is my fave of the bunch.
Also, while the Pokémon show got old REAL quick, I still like the movies, especially the second, third and fifth. And I still like most of the games.
I enjoyed Super Mario Sunshine.
I like some of the DKC spin-offs, and I still like Diddy Kong Racing.

I would, sadly, have to say good books like 1984 or Animal Farm (yes I like George Orwell) while everyone else reads things like Twilight. I have actually been told "Who cares about those old books" when said person is holding Twilight in their hand.

Will yo marry me? Favorite book ever

A marriage proposal AND a gold star? BEST DAY EVER!

Another thing is top hats. I think I might have an obsession with them. (I have a tab open with pictures full of top hats) However, everyone else in my school finds them distasteful and/or not completely awesome. Hopefully I will be receiving a top hat this Christmas.

Wow, so many things I could put here. Where do I begin?

-Twilight. So what if it was a sappy, predictable romance story? It was a sappy, predictable romance story with VAMPIRES!

-Sci-Fi Saturday movies. When I was a kid, I actually thought these movies were GOOD. Now I just enjoy the camp, crappy special effects and 'are you acting? I can't really tell' performances.

-1998 Godzilla. The monster was bad-ass, man! Why does no one realize this? I suppose people were just jaded because it changed so much from the classic Godzilla formula.

-The Star Wars Prequels. Come on, you know George Lucas couldn't have made something like the first 3; it would have gotten bashed by critics for being 'too cliche,' even though George invented most of those cliches in the first place. Back on topic, the space fight scenes were awesome, even though even I thought the angst needed trimming back. (And just so you know, I did watch the first three before I saw the newest ones)

-Spiderman/Superman 3. They were funny... at times... and had a couple cool fights... Now I just want to see Superman: Doomsday done right! >(

-Pokemon/Digimon. Alright, even though I hate Nintendo's copy-pasting of Pokemon games, the first couple seasons of both series were alright. And the Pokemon movie made me cry when I first saw it. Too bad they pulled a recent Disney on us.

-Halo 3. IT IS NOT THAT BAD!

-Half-Life. IT IS NOT THAT GOOD!

-FF7 Advent Children. Hmm. Maybe the reason I like this is because I own the edited version with all dialogue chopped out.

-Weird food combinations. Why does everyone call me a freak when I lobotomize my muffin to dip it in chocolate milk or put pudding in my subs? God only knows.

-AVGN. Not sure why, but everyone seems to hate this guy. He's fairly funny at times.

-Family Guy. Why in the hell does everyone hate this show so much? So it ripped off the simpsons; it's still funny! And I can't understand why people hate it just for that.

There are about 50 other things I could put on here, but I'll leave it at this, because it's getting a bit rantish.

Vampires that sparkle in the sun. SPARKLE. However I find that the people who obsess over it and claim it is the "best thing evar" are the real problem. However I'll stop here as to not derail the thread.

Never did play Tactics Ogre but Front Mission was tons of fun!

I like the movie "The Spehere", but everyone I know gives it the hate treatment.

Indeed, it wasn't the best book ever, but I like the vampires being 'different' somehow insead of all the carbon copies there are in common literature. But I have to admit the sparking thing was monumentally retarted.

I hate how people expect Vista to be more stable than XP. It's a 2 year old O/S, compared with an 8 year old O/S. The older one will have most of the bugs fixed after that length of time. So yeah, I like Vista. Especially over XP (fishers price much?)

But I liked the Hitman film. I know, I just enjoyed it.

My first post, and I'm glad to make a terrible first impression:

James Blunt

(Only because of his Top Gear interview)
