So, we've all played games we didn't particularly care for. Maybe it was annoying gameplay mechanics, a lack of polish, or an atrocious story, any number of factors can go into making a game suck.
But sometimes it's not all bad. A silver lining, as it were. Oh, you still don't like the game, but there's at least ONE thing in there that you genuinely like, perhaps even enough to finish the game, even though you don't like the it.
For me:
Brutal Legend's premise. Brutal Legend started off strong with a fun little hack-and-slash game, but quickly turned into the most restrictive and annoying RTS games I've ever played. But the premise itself, of being trapped in a heavy metal-inspired fantasy world resonated with me. The comedy aspect could have also been great... if it had managed to stay funny for longer than 30 minutes.
Dragon Age: Origin's conversation/choice system, and interactions with party members. Personally, I found Dragon Age a bit lacking in several areas, but one thing I really like was the conversation system. This game had more actual ROLE PLAYING than any RPG I've played in some time. Also, while the story was shallow (in my opinion), I found the interactions with my party members genuinely good. Zevran really endeared himself to me before the end of the game.
What about you guys?
