I still like him, but I cannot buy any David Bowie albums given the fact that he gave a $10,000 check to the Jena Six kids. He chose the wrong side to suuport in my opinion. Given the fact that he's married to a Somalian model it's no wonder.

Love the man, dislike his political stance.

Also, Stephen King is one of my favorite writers, but I can't stand his ultra left quotes and stances he takes in many of his books. Most notably the final Dark Tower novel.
I dislike any person who gets involved in, or funds American stupidity, regardless of political ideals.

Almost as much as someone who aligns themselves with any side of the political scale absolutely.

Well not that I have ever eaten it(yet I do want to give it a go) I was a bit surprised to find out that marmite is bone marrow.
Ha, jokes on you, it's not bone marrow at all, it's a yeast extract. Suitable for vegetarians

I used to love curry flavored Pot Noodles, but then I found out the chunky things that I assumed was chicken or some kind of meat was actually tofu, I tried eating another one but all I could taste was the tofu. I'm like that with all my meals, if there's even one ingredient I dislike, even if I can't taste it, my mind will trick me into tasting it. Sucks because I fucking loved curry Pot Noodles.

I've never had this. If I like something, I like it. No matter who made it.

For example, I think Bono is the worst human being alive, yet I like a small selection of U2 songs.

I know this makes me sound like a pretentious twat, but it's the truth.
See I really like some of their music, and despite Bono's retardedness he's actually getting some good shit done. But my biggest gripe with U2 is how the older they just seem to keep cranking out this really generic lame dad-rock. Like, rock that your dad can listen to and go "yeah I'm into rock now". No you're not, dad. Their best albums are Achtung Baby and Joshua Tree, and "Vertigo" is completely retarded and so is everything since then. I was massively disappointed by "No Line on the Horizon" after I saw the crazy high reviews it was getting. It just sounds tired and boring to me, especially considering how hungry and exciting they sounded on the two albums I mentioned.
Wow, ok. :p I really have no idea what you're talking about, sorry. I just like a few songs, that's all I know. xD
Well okay, no harm done or whatever, I wasn't trying to be crazy or anything, just chiming in. I sort of thought the statement "I think Bono is the worst human being alive" meant that you knew some things about him, but it's fine I'm not freaking out. For what it's worth, I didn't think you sounded like a pretentious twat.

Anyway, on topic, I couldn't listen to Red anymore after finding out they were christian rock.
No problem with it, I suppose singing about Jesus is better than yet another fucking love song. But still. Toss "christian" onto anything and it begins to feel like someone is trying to fucking convert you.
Yeah, Johnny Cash is the only remotely Christian music I can listen to without feeling like I'm being preached at.

I stopped liking My Name Is Earl when I found out that Jason Lee (Earl) was a member of the Church of Scientology.

I agree with the rest of the people here on Christian rock. I can think a band is totally awesome, but once I hear they're Christian, suddenly I get this image of the super-preachy types trying to be "real rock bands" and failing. I'm Christian myself, but I really don't like Christian rock, because it just doesn't do the same thing for me.

I got over this with Switchfoot, and some of Flyleaf's songs, but I'm always a little disappointed when I find this stuff out, because then I imagine that the couple songs I've heard from the band are a fluke and the rest will be a genre trying to be something it isn't. Stereotypical Christian music and rock have a really hard time going together. Maybe I need to diversify or something.

I used to like the song "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker until I realized it was praising a woman cheating on her husband. Then I lost faith in the band for writing in a good way about adultery. I don't see them as nice and friendly anymore (which is what "Drift Away" made me think).

I liked McDonald's chicken nuggets as a very-occasionally food, until I found out that it's mostly not even "chicken" as we think of it -- it's squashed meat glued into a paste and solidified. Ew.

Seriously, guys, why all the hate on hipsters? They're allowed their culture, just like you're allowed yours. It's not the end of the world that they exist. Just because you don't like their fashion doesn't mean you're right, or they're right. It's all opinion.

There is actually a type of marmite made out of bone marrow I think it is called petite marmite. I don't mean the one made from yeast. It even says it is yeast on the jar....

If I like something, then I like it, if not then I don't.

Doesn't matter what they "really" are, I will still like it afterwards.

The only such problem I ever had was with The Naked Gun movies after O.J killed his wife and that other guy. All of a sudden, Nordberg didn't seem so lovable and goofy anymore.

Other than that, I don't really care.

I don't care that Mel Gibson is as crazy as a March hare, his movies are awesome.
I don't care that Beck is a scientologist, I love Odelay. Honestly, if I'm going to hate every actor/actress that's a scientologist, I might as well never watch a single Hollywood production for the rest of my life.

I really can't offer respect to people who don't like artists/bands only because of what they look like, or because of other people who like it or because it's popular.

This makes no sense to me.

If you think a band are good, and you like their music, it doesn't matter what the people themselves are like. It's about the music, not what the people playing it look like.

You're going to miss out on a lot of really amazing stuff if you keep up that attitude.
Agreed. A friend of mine is one of those people who likes what I call 'safe rock'. He listens to Disturbed, Nickelback, Fall Out Boy etc (I actually like FOB but anyway, just painting a picture) but he hates My Chemical Romance because he has a problem with Gerard Way. I really don't follow. How does that stop him liking their music?! It's good music and it should be right up his alley as accessible, fun and fairly simple punk-rock-turned-pop-rock-stuff but nope, he just says "gah, I hate that lead singer guy!" ...sigh

No problem guys, I'm glad to help :p

But yeah, I was pretty gutted about that. I cant even look at Earl's face now :(

But for some reason, I can still enjoy some of Tom Cruise's films, even though he too is insane.

Halo, until I figured out that it's really generic. The reason I didn't figure it out first is because it was my 2nd fps (Quake III: Revolution on PS2 was first) and I was addicted. Then I played Bioshock, which I liked better. Then Prey. Then Call OF Duty (which I didn't care for too much). Then Portal. Then the Half Life series. Then Quake 4. Then the Doom series, which concluded my belief of Halo's genericness (that word now exists).
I only play it when I have a good idea for forge, feel really really really bored, or am invited by a friend who I actually know.
