Things you love that no one else seems to have played/seen/read

The game Oni. One of my few childhood favourites that has managed to cling on to its little corner of my heart.

The Ys Series, developed by Falcom I believe....published by XSEED. The most underrated RPG series I have ever seen in my life, and yet it is just soooo good. If you have played Ys Seven for the PSP, most people would understand. Ys Seven was what got me into the entire series. Until that time, I had no idea the Ys series even existed.

I haven't heard that come up in a long time. I've played one of the y's titles years ago and thought it was pretty fun. I didn't know the psp had a release though. I'll have to check that out now.

I know a lot of you guys have seen it but NONE of my friends saw or even heard of Moon until I let them borrow it.
Almost none of them have played any of the Metroid games either which is my favorite franchise of all time.

An anime that I've really been getting into lately is Chaos;Heads and Stein's;Gate (The latter I've only seen 14 episodes of thus far). I love how they deal with topics like isolation and such and they're so atmospheric. Plus, y'know, this scene is just glorious.

Steins;Gate is probably my favourite anime. I absolutely adore it.

Chaos;Head, though, is awful. It had so much potential as psychological horror, and the first episode or so seemed to be setting up for such, but the minute they introduced Di-Swords it flew right out the window. What was left was just... dumb.

OT: Well, no one seems to have played El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. I don't love it per se, but I still think it's pretty brilliant. In addition, no one I know in person has ever heard of pretty much any JRPG I play, such as Soul Nomad and the World Eaters.

The Journeyman Project series. The amount of people I've met in reality who have played any of it (well, minus a year in school when I had a teacher bring in Buried in Time) can fit on one hand. Legacy of Time is still one of my absolute favorite games ever, despite the fact that it's hilariously easy (according to online reviews. It's easy for me because I've played it to the point where it's burned into my brain) and outdated. Legacy of Time and Buried in Time are both up on GoG now, so I suppose there's potential for my friends to play them, but I think I'm alone in my love for that series...

I agree and disagree; The Di-Swords WERE stupid, but I did like the idea of being able to effectively manipulate other people's realities, could have led to some interesting plot points. Also, Soul Nomad and the World Eaters is easily one of my favorite RPG's of all time. Gig just adds so much to it, and having the Demon Path was awesome.

Actually I adore that story as well. YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE SIR

For me it's the Sandman Slim series of Novels and the Dresden Files. I'm a fangirl for supernatural stories with attractive main characters.

i rave constantly about the dark tower series by stephen king but no one else i know has even heard about it, never mind getting excited abouth the (apparently-happening) film/telly adaptation

I love that story, to the extent one can love something so depressing.

Has anyone here played the point and click adventure version of this story? I really liked it, though I could never make the sound work.

I read one book of his, King Rat, and I really enjoyed it.

It was weird as hell though, but it's making me look into more of his stuff.

I loved both Kylar and Vi. I was talking about Elene. I found her really inoying and because of her the first half of the 2nd book was a complete bore.

I HATE her! Vi>Elene and its not even close. It would be like asking if you would rather be waited on hand and foot by your nude dream girl(or guy) or getting castrated by a red hot cattle poker whilst getting gnawed upon the knee caps by a tiny shark. I completely agree with you. Loved Vi as a character and whooped with glee at the end of book 3.

OT: I love the Sharpe's Rifles series by Bernard Cromwell. Yet no one I know reads them. Richard Sharpe is a certified bad ass.

Nobody I've met enjoyed the The Last Chancers if they had heard of it but it's one of my favorite 40k novel trilogies.

None of my friends read recreationally, so pretty much any series I've read fits the description. Most recently, it's been bugging me that I don't have anyone to discuss The Wheel of TIme with IRL. My school principal is also reading it, but he's only on book 7, while I'm currently ten chapters into book 12. Sure, we could discuss what's happened up until book 7, but I would be kicking myself if I accidentally let any spoilers slip, which I try to be careful about, since very little pisses me off more than having a good story spoiled.

As far as video games go, most PS3 exclusives I have also fit. Most of my friends own Xbox 360's, and while a few of my friends own PS3's, the only exclusives they're typically interested in are Uncharted and Killzone, so they haven't played a lot of my favorites.
