Lt. Surge is called the "Lightning American". So, apparently American exists in the Pokemon world.
Actually, the region of Unova is based off Manhattan. Castelia city is lower manhattan and Nimbasa is upper manhattan. (not sure of actual names). All the other main regions (except orre) are based off real Japanese regions, which you can find on a map of Japan.AlphaMandate said:

Cacturne stand still all day to preserve moisture. At night, it waits for travelers to become exhausted before sucking out all of their bodily fluids in order to get their fix of water. Terrifying. Simply terrifying.

To be honest ive never really found any of these things to be a surprise except the thing about Brendan's
hair actually being a hat which is weird but i actually wanted to put a few things i always though might explain wobbuffet and its tail and few things i have literally just thought of XD
one theory i thought was that wobbuffet was either blind/had impossibly poor eyesight or could only see in the dark, which is why it evolved eyes in its tail so it could see outside of caves and why it is so protective as if its tail gets damaged it cant go outside or really see anymore, it also explained to me why it puts its arm to its forehead as i assumed it was shielding its eyes from the sun
the second was simply that its tail was like a huge exposed nerve or its major weak point so it does everything that it can to stop it being hit there so it never has to feel that kind of pain
the third i thought about it made me a little sad even though it's my own thought XD, but as wobbuffets only learn moves that repel and push everything away from it as it's not particularly goo looking, its always getting attacked and abused for just being it and as it seems people and pokemon don't seem to like it an awful lot for again just being what it is i think there very very lonely, and they evolved that tail with eyes as a sort of built in friend so it never feels really alone, thats why it protects it so much as its pretty much it's only friend in the world from hatch to death and it couldn't bare to loose it
or something i just thought up wobbuffet are very superstitious and think that there tails are there souls or shadows and if they get attacked they will die or stop being able to move or something along those lines
