In R/B/Y any attack that did set amount of damage ignored the type chart completely. Was playing yellow a few weeks ago and someone seismic tossed my gengar xD.

Also in first gen dragonair has no real weakness to dragons since the only dragon move in the game always deals 40 dmg and ghosts were weak to other ghost type attacks but the only ghost attack that dealt variable damage was lick (which lickitung couldnt learn wtf!)

Well holy shit.

Also, Golurk can learn Fly. Don't know how though.
Golurk is a Ghost-type pokemon. Guess what most ghosts can do?

In addition to this, Garchomp is often depicted as being able to fly (although very close to the ground) and yet, it cannot learn Fly. Also, the pokedoex mentions its astouding speed, but Garchomp cannot learn Mach Punch, Quick Attack (or any other version of this move), Air Cutter, Air Slash and cannot possess the ability Levitate.

After you finish the story in Black/White, if you go to Dragonspiral tower and fish there you will eventually find Dratinis. HOWEVER, only Dratini's level 55 and higher know the move Outrage.

Here's the site I go to when I need to do checking against the various types and whatnot:

http://pokemondb.net/type

You do not know how many times that chart saved both me and my pokemon's fourth point of contact.

The gym leader in Cianwood City in G/S/C is named Chuck, and he uses the fighting type.

I wonder who that could be a reference to?

I've never noticed that the Pokemon have better health care than the humans until now.

Which is to say they even have healthcare. Which is apparently so good the nurses encourage them to get hurt so they can see them again.

But that's okay. Trainers don't get hurt. They only white out if they lose a match.

Am I the only one unsure of what "whiting out" even means? Also it's messed up how the pokemon seem to be far less affected by each other and the elements yet realistically they could destroy buildings if they simply tried.

Ah thanks a bunch for that.

Been awhile since I got back into pokemon, and quite a few things have changed

In the anime, Jesse and James are named after Frank and Jesse James. In the Japanese version they are called Musashi and Kojiro, after the two famous rival swordsman (Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro).

...I...I don't get it.

Anyway, as for mine:

Notice how the precious metal "platinum" has little to do with diamonds and pearls, which are commonly considered jewels, other than, you know, being precious.

Well, Giratina's name was derived from Girasol, a kind of opal. My bet's on executive meddling leading to the more appealing name of "Platinum Version".

And I'm also willing to bet someone was high off their ass when they passed up platinum for "Crystal Version" back in the old generation II days.

Here's a good one from the Pokemon Trading Card game video game.

If you played the GBC Trading Card game, you probably met up with this dude, Imakuni:

You know who this guy is? He's the dude who sings the Japanese version of the old gen 1 Pokerap. Seriously:
