We all have things that would make most people wonder how you made it through life without knowing that thing.

A few examples:
Until very recently I didn?t know the difference between musician and magician (I thought they were the same word meaning both things).

My friend Ryan didn?t know that the stripes on the American flag represent the 13 original colonies (we live in the U.S. so kind of big not to know that)

And my other friend Luke still to this day isn't aware of how to use a screw driver

So my question to you is, what bit(s) of common knowledge don?t you know or didn't know

How to do laundry.

How to cook basically anything.

Actually I'm pretty much useless when it comes to menial household labor.

What's in blood? I'm fascinated by it. The way it reacts to water seems different than almost any other liquid, and I want to learn that.

I also wanna learn how to change a tire and how the hell jell-o works.

I should know my times table, as I'm doing A-level maths.
I should be able to concentrate when I need to revise.
Fix a computer, or at least have a rudimentary understanding of how they work, considering how much time I spend on one.
I should be able to hold a conversation with a random person, but I can't. Only with people I've known for a while.

How this magical screen I'm staring at keeps track of all of things at once without my computer exploding.
Why electricity can kill humans.
Why this chair hasn't collapsed from wear yet.
Lastly, How Phonographs work...considering how old they are, the tech should be common knowledge.

Oh my gosh, this! I try and try, but it just never pays off outside of utilizing the style when putting down my John Doe.

Other than that, I would have to say that I'm still unsure about how to cook a grilled cheese properly. But that's where trial and error comes in, right?

Crossing my eyes. Can't do it. Everyone else can. Oh, and a sense of smell. Haven't got it.

Many historical facts about Canada, like when exactly it became a country, and stuff like that. I THINK I know it, but a trip to Wikipedia proves me wrong =/

How to navigate in my area is a biggy.

Person: "So, how do you get to (X)? We go past it every time we watch the movies."

Me: "O_O wut"

How to speak Chinese fluently (I'm Chinese in RL). My parent didn't send me to this Chinese school when I was little (something about the best teacher had left by the time I was in the right age to enroll).

Cursive script is not all that common, I'd be surprised to meet someone who could write in cursive (I do do so myself, but then I write like a damned GP).

Try using a traditional pen/fountain pen, or if you're feeling adventurous, a quill pen. It forces you to hold it at a certain angle and move it a certain way.

OT: Coding... (well, given that this is basically a nerd/geek haven) and to justify why everyone I know IRL seems to think I'm a PC miracle worker.

I do not know how to ride a bike. I learned for a reward as a kid, then completely forgot. Rather unfortunate, really. I'd love to learn how.
