When i was around 8-9 years old i was attacked by a dog. He almost ripped my right cheek off. I have never loved my friends so much then i did that day when he pulled the dog of me. If i was alone im not sure if i would be here today.
So today i should be terrified of dog but im not. I love dogs. The only reason i don't have one myself is because it's to much work in my eyes. Sure i was scared to dog the first few months after that happend but i got over my fear. people have told me that they are realy suprised that i love dog so much after what happend.

So do you guys have something that you should be terrified off but for some reason you are not?

(Sorry for my poor english and if this tread has been done before i appologise)

Again dogs, but we got a small one to get me over that fear. (Typical British attitude; you afraid of dogs, I know, we'll get you a dog! -_- worked though :)

People.

I have the key characteristics of an introvert and then some: I like being alone, I don't like intimacy, I'm not assertive, I'm quiet, I'm usually not outgoing at all, I'm emotionally detached from most people, and I'm mostly concerned with my own life.

I was also heavily bullied as a kid and, for a long time after that, I had issues with trusting people, any people. I was a misanthrope far before I hit my teens.

But, I'm actually comfortable with people nowadays. As long as they're not touchy feely or gushing with tender infatuation towards me, I find most people interesting and can tolerate almost all people. I have few mental barriers erected between myself and others because I have incredibly few things to hide from them. I volunteer and plan to volunteer more once I graduate, I chose a social profession, and I plan to enter politics and found an organisation one day, all despite the fact that I can happily go for weeks without speaking to anyone and my favourite activities are solitary.

A gay person who hits on me. Although I'm straight, I'm kinda flattered.

People have sex near me(within 10 feet). This should offend me or creep me out. It doesn't. I just go about with whatever I was doing at the time.
