Right what it says on the tin, what do you think gets more hate than they deserve. Now let me make something perfectly clear. This isn't things that you think don't deserve hate. This is things that you think get more hate than they deserve. You can still think that something sucks but you still think that they get too much hate, as in "it's bad, but it wasn't THAT bad"

Me? I'm gonna have to go with Jar Jar Binks. Now, like I said above, I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve hate. I can understand why people don't like him, he's annoying as Hell and doesn't really have much of a purpose in the plot aside from being a glorified destination marker. I just don't think that he's the worst thing ever and he gets way more hate than he deserves. I mean seriously, people talk about him like he single handily destroyed Star Wars. So, in summary, annoying character, not THAT annoying.

Megan Fox.

I mean, she was in the two first Transformers movies, and wasn't a whirly clump of metal that looks like all the others, and she wasn't Shia LeBouf.

A lot of the hate she got seems to be because she fought with the other cast members, who come of as being a bit creepy...to get her job, she had to wash Michael Bay's car in a bikini while he filmed her, for example. And, successful young actresses always seem to get lots of hate.

OTOH, I'd not say she was particularly talented, or comes across as a particularly good person or role model or whatever, just she doesn't seem to deserve all the hate she gets.

...

Oh, the Batman and Robin movie. It had neither Jim Carrey nor Nicole Kidman in it, so big improvement of Batman Forever. And, yeah, very goofy, but it was supposed to be. Batman doesn't have to be serious, my favourite Batman movie is the Adam West one...bit long, but scenes like the one where he's trying to get rid of the bomb? Brilliant.

While I like Jim Carrey, I've got to agree with Batman & Robin. Love that movie.

OT: Basically anything that the internet has latched onto. I've stopped going into news threads about Diablo III around here, because I know the first comment is going to snarkily ask "Did they remove the DRM?" no matter what the content of the thread is. Much like OP's example, don't get me wrong, I can understand the ire directed at always-online DRM, and don't begrudge anybody who avoids the game because of it. But it's just obnoxious to see it brought up in every single thread, without fail, every single time. We get it, you don't like the DRM or Blizzard's stubborn determination to stick with it. Can we talk about something else now?

QTEs. Are they really that bad? I've always found myself enjoying them for their cinematic-style presentation. The only problem I've had is when they put which button to press in very difficult to see spots.

The Star Wars Prequels- Yes there is an ungodly high amount of melodrama and unwanted romance, but the action and generally awesomeness trump those.

Edit: How I forget this baffles me, Sword Art Online gets way to much hate. Yes it is overrated, but the same goes for almost every other big anime titles. (Yes that includes Attack on Titan). Yes Kirito is the most OP fucker on the planet, yes it can't really decide what it wants to be genre-wise. Yes, the girl is flashbacked way to much. But it is not that bad of a show.

I have to agree. The only time I really raged at a QTE was in Resident Evil 4 where you fight that big guy. You're treated to a 30 second long cut scene, then you're given half a second to do a QTE you aren't expecting before you get killed, then you repeat it ready for the QTE, except the game thought it'd be fun to make it so you have to press a DIFFERENT button this time and you end up dying again because you weren't expecting that either. Apart from that, most games aren't that bad.

Soo with you on the bomb scene! I could (and have) watch that scene over and over again, an amazing example of how to blend camp and farce to make brilliant comedy!

This isn't gaming forum so I'll list the gaming ones first: EA, Activision, CoD, Bethesda GS (especially these guys actually), Gearbox.
Devil's Advocate here but Justin Bieber, and by extension all celebrities. People say that their music/work sucks, and hilariously that they are 'dumb'. Seriously? If they were dumb, how exactly did they become household names? By cunning regarding knowing their audience and their strengths.
Star Wars prequels have been mentioned but I want to agree- I really thing they're great, and feel they provide context and juxtaposition to the original trilogy really well.

The Twilight saga.
Yeah, I'm goin' there....
One of my best friends is a Twi-hard, and was bemoaning that she didn't have anyone to discuss the books with. This combined with my philosophy of "You can't really criticize it if you haven't read/seen it" led me to read the first book. And it wasn't *nearly* as bad as I had thought it would be, given what I'd heard about it on-line. So I read the rest of the series. Once again, not great by any means, in fact it could even be fair to call them bad, but not anywhere *near* being the unspeakable abominations that the internet would lead you to believe them to be.

Call of Duty, Obama, Dane Cook, Dynasty Warriors, men, the Kinect, Peter Molyneux and Ubisoft. Not to say some or all of them are completely innocent of flaws, but a lot of them are hated either due to short-sighted reasons or band-wagon hate.

I second Obama. Yeah, he disappointed me too but Jesus, he isn't the Communist Muslim Hitler that some people make him out to be.

I haven't seen a-lot of Loki/Tom Hiddleston/Avenger super hero actors overall...

But then again I am a teenage girl.

And a massive Tom Hiddleston/Benedict Cumberbatch/Dark-hair with blue or green or bright eyes and pale skin fan girl.

On another note, speaking as a Christian I think within certain circles any form of Atheism is incredibly overly hated upon. Hell, the sheer choosing of believing in ONE god already makes you an Atheist to another religion, so to speak.

Also - and I know - Micheal Bay. Yeah, yeah explosions explosions, but he's a spectacle directer (from what I've seen at least). I guess the main question is if there is or is not VALUE in that.

And allow me to also say Obama, for a slightly different reason...that really being that Rommey probably would've fucked us over harder - and last I heard foreign policy is getting better because of Obama.

Edit: Also, YAOI.

If you 'guys' can have ecchi, a good majority of porno and hentai, let me have Free! and Sensitive Pornograph.

Literally everything.

Absolutely nothing the internet has a collective breakdown over was worth the effort.

Aside from war crimes and SOPA, I mean.

Pretty much anything centered around religion is going to generate hate. Christians can be pretty closed minded while a lot of Atheists can be pretty venomous or arrogant. Sadly it cuts both ways. Seriously people, can't we just get along and move on with our lives?

I don't really see Obama getting that much hate. The criticism he does get is legitimate though, there's no justifying the NSA spying controversy, or the continuation of Bush's Afghan war. To be fair, I didn't see any difference between Obama and Romney. They were basically the exact same person, and agreed on virtually everything.

Edit: I'll add Anita Sarkeesian here too. I'm not overly fond of her, but she makes some fair points. Honestly, people act like she's super hitler or something.

Everything.
Everything.
Spending the amount of time procrastinating on the internet that I have, you come to certain corners where absolutely everything is looked down upon with blind, venomous hatred to the point where you have to wonder what exactly these people do enjoy in life.

As far as games are concerned, you find places where every game that receives positive critical reception is shat upon, and every obscure, overlooked and otherwise unknown indie game is treated with unimaginable reverence. Then you have places where the opposite is true.

Movies, similar: everything big-budget, critical adored or extremely popular is shit, and the only things worth watching are those eleven-hour long sweeping shots of the Empire State Building. But over here, it's popular opinion that is correct, and those art-student circle-jerks that are wrong.

Hey, music! Have you ever been played on any radio station at all at any point in your existence? You have? Too mainstream, GTFO. Except music that's played on the radio is actually the only good music, so don't worry about it.

I could go on. I mean, I have stuff I dislike: I don't understand how air-headed pop starlets are so consistently popular when all they're doing is writing the same three songs about finding love, being in love or losing your love (bonus points if they cheated or were stolen). I guess some people find that appealing, if not familiar. I don't really get why people are so beholden to Apple that they put up with, frankly, godawful, borderline anti-consumer policies (and you thought Microsoft and the Xbox One were bad) like paying for a phone-call to customer support, or only allowing licensed retailers to handle their products (of which there are none in my hometown, so everyone back home who's had an Apple product has been screwed at some point). I don't mind religion, but heavily organized, narrow-minded religious groups baffle me. And I don't understand why, oh why, I can't play games on my console without someone telling me I'm wrong. I know the pitfalls, but I made my choice. Let me have my fun.

The fact is, everyone has different tastes. Chances are, if something exists, there's an audience for it somewhere. I don't see why people can't accept that and move on. Not to say I've never complained about anything before, but I usually try to take a more passive approach to that kind of thing: being angry without being actively enraged, if you get my meaning.

Except economics, tax, healthcare, legalisation for illegal immigrants, global warming, cap-and-trade, Roe v Wade, business regulation, marriage, Don't Ask/ Don't Tell, energy policy, and New Start.

Because it's mainstream and thus it's cool to hate it.

Yeah, I agree with what you're saying. Justin Bieber has been getting sooooooooo much hate to mention something specific. Well, I have heard one or two songs that he's sung and I don't like them. I like punk and thus I prefer to listen to that rather than wasting my energy hating pop I don't like.

Also Call of Duty. It gets a lot of love too (obviously), but I think there's too much hate for it.

Actually, I think there's too much hate in general. Religion, music, games, movies and TV shows all receive too much hate. I want to see indifference make a comeback soon.

Seconding Twilight. Yeah, all those criticisms were valid, but Jesus Christ, the last movie came out a year ago and the last book five years ago. Time to let it go.

Also, Justin Bieber. You know how often he gets forced down my throat by his fans and the mainstream media? Virtually never. You know how often it's done by his haters? All the time. I am so sick of the Twilight and Justin Bieber jokes that I'm actually starting to defend them.

Final Fantasy 10.

If Tidus wasn't the main character - or, at least if I could have Yuna as the party avatar and in all of the battles as the "leader", and if the story was cleaned up a bit, it would be a great game.

13 is beyond saving, though.

And to an extent, yaoi fangirls. Yeah, I went there. My sister is a huge one; to ridiculous extremes. She has an 11kg box of gay porn and yaoi, it's ridiculous.
