Right now, I'm pretty content with the game, but there is one thing I want added. An option at the new world setup to dictate if the world has NPCs or not. That way, people who like the isolation still have it, while those who would prefer to play in a populated world offline have the option as well.

What do you want added before final release?

EDIT. I also want moving blocks. I'd love to see a rotating windmill.

I want the option to create a much larger crafting table, like maybe a 9x9 or something, to create large, magnificent, beautiful things, like a hang glider, or a frigate, or a cannon, or somethin'.

I dunno, it could work. Gunpowder's already in the game. Maybe a three row of iron ore and a redstone trigger for the gun?

You can mod your game to get most of the things you're asking for. Check out the minecraft forums. I know there are several gun mods.

I'd like Notch to add more plants to make farming more rewarding. Also, the weapon mod does have a musket if you're interested. It also adds quite a few other useful weapons.

Planes! There isn't a more expedient way of exploring your domain than by plane. Hell, even a simple glider would be a great addition. (Plane mod by Flan is highly recommended)

Some sort of cannon. Demolition, what can I say?

Some real traps, and mobs that fall for them. I was quite sad to find out that my highly creative drowning trap did not yield any noteworthy loot. Say, could pistons be used for a smashing type trap? Haven't tried that yet...

Some method of obtaining gunpowder other than killing creepers. How about grinding gravel?

Being able to plant hedges. I don't mean the little blocks of leafs, which last time I checked still had to be attached to wood. No, real hedges.

A rocket so that I might explore the Minecraft moon (seriously, this needs to be in there!)

A way of creating power without redstone torches. Watermills perhaps?

But good sir! You *can* make hedges, simply harvest leaves with shears, and they become placeable blocks!

1. Pistons won't crush or suffocate things, according to my research on the Minecraft wiki.
2. I second the motion.
3. You can use pressure plates or levers, and there's probably other non-redstone stuff.

True, but those will disappear unless you place them on wood. I'm not quite sure what Notch was thinking, but it's quite stupid :(

I'd like a greater variation of monsters. Playing with them off isn't terribly rewarding, playing with them on gets repetitive.

I'm also looking forward to there being more game to Minecraft, but I know that's coming and I don't mind the wait.

I know Yahtzee suggested this and I'm sure others have as well, but I really want a metal/ore detector. I get tired of digging blind all the time. I honestly don't like being below the earth that much at all in the game--I prefer being above ground making buildings. So I'd love something to help reduce my time in the mines.

Oh, and horses. Or at least the ability to control the saddled pigs.

I know, I know, the horses are available in a mod, but from what I understand, those mods are singleplayer only. I play multiplayer.

Yeah, but they'll still decay if they're not near wood (although I think they're making player-placed leaves permanent in 1.8).

OT: Jungles, with huge trees, frequent rains, vines, monkeys, leopards, all that.

From realistic perspective? Yes, Notch said he will NEVER add guns to minecraft.

Might be something related to it:

I would like an option to turn on/off what kind of mobs that can spawn.

Also some kind of pump for water & magma, that you can you run with like a watermill or something(or with physical power)

This. If I were stuck in a world where dangerous animals could blow up you bet I'd want a gun.

I just want some purpose. I want incentive to build things, incentives to dig tunnels, some kind of progression. That's it really, but I have a feeling 1.8 will address just that.

I have seen mods for 90% of the requests here. I just want an npc that lives in your house and can have enough intelligence to follow basic instructions and will build its own room with whatever it wants where you tell it to and the just update your house as it sees fit. Things like adding stairs instead of just a way up blocks and making paths between buildings without you telling it to.
