I'm proud that I got accepted to SCAD.

I could go on, but those are some of my biggest triumphs.

I'm proud of the fact that I wrote a paper that a sophomore English teacher said would get me an A, and I'm still a freshman. However, I'm annoyed that I got marked down on that same paper because it turned out there was a word limit and I went over by 1,044 words.

[li]Atheism. While I despise deep religion. I acknowledge the self-assurance others find in it, but It annoys me when science is "disproved" by arrogant, nonsensical religious statements. I also think everyone needs a little faith. Not in "God", but in friends, family, each other and most importantly, themselves. You can never truly learn to do something new, unless you believe you can do it in the first place.

I dislike the whole proud/pride thing. Mainly because I find things like patriotism and people who go around yelling "I'm Gay/religious/atheist/political opinion/handicapped And Proud" annoying. It screams of insecurity and contradicts the claim they're making.

But that's just a word association I have, for better and worse.
I much prefer people saying "I'm happy my country does this" / "I enjoy my hobby" / "I don't let my disability limit me".

I'm proud about things people don't expect, and not proud of others you might expect. I think something you're proud of is something that particularly offends you when it is questioned.

I'm proud that I am not racist, or particularly homophobic.
I'm proud that I'm not the same person I was when I was 14.
I'm proud of having made loyal and strong friends.
I'm proud of having found love young.
I'm proud of being able to distance myself emotionally from a problem.

I'm not proud of making it into a good university, because I know I've coasted and could achieve far more academically.
I'm not proud of ditching friends for being bad friends, because I know I can be one myself.
I'm not proud of my difficulty with being rude to people I know.
I'm not proud that I'm not the type of student to go out with friends all the time.
