Never played most of the classic Nintendo games - Zelda, Mario, etc. (I was a Sega kid.)

Never seen many of the "classic" anime series - Robotech, stuff like that. (Didn't know about anime until I was in my twenties.)

...My name is Aetera(Hi Aetera!), and I've never played a single Metal Gear Solid game. I've also never seen Gone with the Wind, or The Labyrinth.

Portal. When my friend bought Portal 2 she started talking about some robot chick and I had no idea what the hell she was talking about. I have not heard the end of it since.

You need not be afraid of it. I only started playing it a year ago and caught on very quickly, despite me rarely ever playing FPS (exceptions: Metroid Prime and...Portal? That doesn't really count, though). I do well in TF2, so I think anyone can.

I've never seen an Indiana Jones film. I just know a few key scenes so I can blag if it comes up :(
Actually, same here.
I think it's one of those things where everyone knows of them but haven't actually seen the whole thing.

Very, very shameful. I'd hope you plan to remedy that as soon as possible. Especially considering all the movies you've reviewed!

You know, they recently introduced a system where you can be coached by a more experienced player, and compared to some online shooters the learning curve isn't very steep in TF2

Not having seen Firefly always makes me ashamed.

Also being a massive Star Wars fan and not playing FU and FU2.. I know they're supposed to be bad games but I still should have played them with all the hype for them.

Oh and Half Life 1

The remake of Battlestar Galactica.

Oh wait, you said what I was ashamed for NOT watching?

Probably the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. I'm not a huge RPG fan by any stretch but you'd think I'd get my hands on at least ONE of them, or at least care a little about what they're like. I did get Oblivion once long ago but I finished the first venture into Dimension Mordor then quit the game because I got bored...

Seen Doom 3 for sale about a month ago, for the Xbox (which i still have) and decided against it. Kicking myself now =(
But ive never finished any of the Fallout series, i just get near the end, get side tracked, get bored and start anew.
And not played...probably Okami, i have it sitting on my shelf, infact im looking at it, but i just havnt played it =/ That and Eternal Darkness and Silent Hill 2.

Never watched Battlestar Galactica or Firefly even though I really want to and I've never played Shadow of the Colossus.

As for me... the Persona games! And that whole... world of games. Megaten, etc...

They appeal to me on so many levels. I haven't touched one, cuz I'm not entirely sure where to start.
Persona 1,2 and the SMTs are very hard compred to Persona 4 and 3.
They are also very different in what the game expects you to pull off.
so my guess would be start with Persona 3 and 4.
then move onto harder things like the SMTs and Persona 2 or 1. (although 1 is not really good)

Edit: For me, i haven't really ever played Halo. although im not really ashamed of it.

Portals 1 and 2
I was like you, until earlier tonight. Getting it was a very good decision.

And don't get me wrong, I'm no Valve fanboy. I get incredibly fed up with just how much people praise them on these forums, and I've never played a Half Life game, or Team Fortress 2. That and the internet has been saturated with the cake meme for several years now, and I was sick of it. And Portal had never been in my MUST PLAY list, I just saw an opportunity when my friend had a spare Portal on Steam, and I got it for $5.

Let me reiterate: very good decision.

It's well worth a look if nothing else. I've put almost 100 hours into it and still really enjoy it. And anyone that bought the orange box has a copy anyway ^.^

You can get Persona 4 cheap on Amazon! (Persona 3 is like $70 though)
I've actually got a copy of the first Persona game that came out in the US for the Playstation (which as I understand it was actually the second game in a series?), I've owned it for many, many years but I haven't given it a go.

Are they worth playing in order, or does it matter?
Since all the stories are different it doesn't matter the order but I say that you could play Persona 3 and 4 first, they are considered best in the series.
