In my relatively short time here, I've notices a couple of things about the Escapist Forums.

For instance:

There is about a 1/10 ratio of reply/views for an average thread.

So what have you noticed?

Edit: Oh, and is it me or are there way fewer people on probation/suspension now?

Just that people are far more inclined to correct bad grammar/spelling then most other forums I've been to.

Sometimes it's nice. It keeps the forums relatively clean.

Sometimes it's obnoxious, especially when it's over minor errors.

I've noticed that punishments for the "First!!1!!one!!1" comments on Zero Punctuation have gone from bans to probations and suspensions.
It's also a really nice place to be.

At what stage do you become a common name?

These forums are actually active (unlike other gaming forums that I used to frequent).

Hmmmm, I've noticed more mod activity since Laby and Ultra were made members of the Red Guard. Which is expected, since it brings the number of mods up from three to five. Plus the staff, of course. Generally, the place has improved too since I first joined in December last year. Not to mention the fact that the video series are getting better generally (loving Apocalypse Lane and Rebecca Mayes specifically).

P.S. I have to say I'm jealous of Labyrinth and UltraJoe for getting mod status. Still, well done to them both, they're doing a bang on job so far :)

That the overall quality of posting has decreased since I joined...or maybe I just expect a higher quality nowadays - I'm not sure.

That and people are incredibly stubborn on these forums...

The mods wield the variety of ban hammers like great crusaders against spam!

The people who make one thread and leave normally never mention video games.

IS that good? >.>

On that note, can I ask about UltraJoe? In the mods list it says he was previously banned... like the Biblical character of Saul.

Maybe Ultra will be the last member here... and he will leave a legacy to the rest of the world.

Hasn't Baby Tea also gained mod status?

I've noticed that the people here are generally more helpful than those in other forums.

I have noticed, that I can pretend to work, puting in a full 8hour day all while trolling the escapist.

Woohoo! Selling our soul!
Takes a bit more than that, I think. I'm a perfect example of an exception to that rule.

I'd have to say, there are a lot of perfection when it comes to grammar and the searchbar (including myself).

I've noticed that as well. Bearing in mind that most of the other mods are American (With the exception of Wilson) whilst they're Austrailian, so there is less time when no mods are online.

All I know was that there was a user called Almightyjoe who had the same avatar as Ultrajoe and was banned. I don't know anything else about it.

- One of the most civilised gaming-focused forums I ever visited.
- A lot of awesome people.
- Proper grammar and spelling are appreciated, therefor this forum helps me improve my skill.
- Mods have their ups and downs apperantly, sometimes throwing around the banhammer like it's a toy, sometimes letting people slip by I think should be punished.
- It's just a really cool place to be.
