OT, Sony needs to make more than a 20% profit margin if its gona make any serious money. It doesn't matter to them how much they're competition is selling, they don't give a damn about the 'console wars', its us that care about that - so long as they make money, they're happy, and thats how it should be, considering they're a profit making company.

console wars were created by the console creators to maximize profits.

little do you know, they are having a secret meeting with the masons tonight, they will merge into one company...and create a super console. Then, they will increase the price tenfold, and the New World Order will begin!

The pre-production costs were astronomical for Sony, they need to make that back. Don't throw poor maths and business knowledge in my face again please.

I'm not FLAMING sony I was jumping up and down the day they dropped the price.it's just I'm dissapointed they decided NOT to win the console war single handedly.

Oy with the console wars thing again...

What the hell? Sony are making a loss on each console sold. Look how much they were in the red to begin with. If they cut the price that much, they could sink their own ship.

And it's been calculated that in order for Sony to catch up with Nintendo, it would have had to stay at the sales it achieved from the price drop for a year and a half, and Nintendo would have had to stop production of the Wii completely.

P.S. The Wii makes something like $8 on every console.

Consoles wars will most likely never end. However it's fun having both the 360 and the PS3.
