Mirror's edge is the most perfect first person that has ever existed -- you actually have hands that wave around as you run and are there when you aren't pressing a button or relaoding your gun or whatever and legs that you can see when you look down.

This extremely well done 1st person view coupled with the lack of HuD makes it the most immersive game I've ever player.

First person is superior in every way, and mirror's edge shows that this is especially the case for platforming games -- if more were like this it would be a better world to live in lol :)

I prefer third-person when it's implemented well, but what I really want to see more of is a combination of both. I'm not sure what other games did this, but when I had the misfortune of renting the game adaptation of Quantum of Solace, the one thing I actually liked was that you played the whole game in first person until you took cover. After you got into cover, the camera would swing back into third-person so you could see where you were and if you were adequately protected.

It worked really well in my opinion, because it meant you could do fast-paced run and gun stuff in first person but still have a viable stealth option or cover-based option without having to worry about how much of your body is actually visible.

Third person ..over the shoulder. It enables me to see Leon's hips swaying as he saunters around villages. Makes me feel like I'm really physically close to him, like maybe he can feel my breath on his neck, or I can smell his hair. Speaking of which, he needs a more revealing alternate costume.
o_O..

ok..then..

OT:

it depends on the kind of setting, if say, the game in question focuses more on how to get through a level than straight up murdering third person

if i'm going in to kill like a bad-ass first person :D?
Don't be alarmed, your response is the correct one :p.
Eh, only so if you're male I suppose. Which you aren't. :/
It was supposed to be interpreted as just being creepy, regardless of gender. Presuming to have a camera angle preference based on such ridiculous parameters is kind of scary, to anyone.

I honestly don't care. As long as a game is well made the perspective from which it is viewed doesn't matter to me.
But the perspective can change the feel of a game.
Would CoD be as successful if it wasn't an FPS? Probably, but part of the atmosphere would be lost.

idk fp good for a game that is straight up actiopn while 3rd person is better for......everything else but i still think third person is better because if only star wars battle front got it then hell it shouldnt be that hard to fuck it up. Rite? Rite?(im only kidding btw i know there are massive 3rd person fuck ups in the world)

Third person, I like the controls better and I feel more involved in the story.
