Well im sure the company behind the advert will be a victim of its own short sightedness. What Woman is going to buy this product with the intent of giving it to her lobotomised husband to use? If its so easy she will use it herself.
Needless to say any man who watches the advert will buy anything BUT this.

I think we are at the point where reverse sexism occurs and women are seen as smart and peaceful, and men are savage an idiotic. Especially in media, I've noticed this a lot in Disney Channel programming.

Get worked up over it. Why? Because unless men take an honest stand for themselves against sexism towards men will continue to get worse. I wouldn't try to get the ad pulled or anything but I would write the company saying "I'm never buying your product 'cause your commercial is crap. Unless you want to make another one to go with it saying the same thing about women." The commercial is only a joke but the last time I heard a women making sexist comments towards me I replied in kind.

Yea, it's so bad it's just bad.

Didn't mind the ad, but I almost ripped apart my shirt after hearing the little cackling laugh at the end. That laugh deserves a proper shoryuken.

Even if you think the situation in the ad is real you shouldn't worry. From the looks of the guy he is sure to give her a sound beating at night.

Sexist and kind of insulting to Australians (imo). Maybe i'm just bitter because you literally save £100's a year on insurance for being female, it's a bloody con.

I HATE the double standards with sexism.

I guess next there'll be an ad for watermelon knifes or something ( knifes for cutting watermelons, not knifes made of) with a black guy and a white guy. I need not even say what they would, because you alreayd know. Don't you.
you dirty little horse.
"So easy, a white man could do it!" And then it'll show both families enjoying watermelon together in the park.
I'd buy that though. I have noticed some have trouble cutting watermelon for some odd reason and that should clear the problem right up.

As for the commercial like it's been said good old double standards are fun the same reason as to why when a 16 year old boy gets some he gets more contraceptives and a high five but as for a girl...

what a shitty commercial.

That commercial cost about the cost of some crappy spray and a plastic bag to make.

So, there was little ol' me watching T.V... scratch that, I'm not writing a goddamn poem.

So I was watching the tube and then this came on:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrnOqwXWJDA

Notice it?

Watch it again... I didn't really think of it at first and then i saw it another three times.
The words "So easy a man could do it!!" echoed and danced through my 16-year-old mind.

Think about it, if it had said
"So easy, a woman could do it!! *easy going laugh*" It would have been pulled off the air instantly. I doubt it'd even get commisioned.
So why is nothing happening about this womans obvious sexism that oozes out of her every oven lovin' crevice?!

I'll admit I'm overreacting a little - BUT COME ON!! Why should she get away with that stuff just because she has a clitoris! (I would have said breasts but then the man does as well.)

Well, consider this the end of my rant. Steam has been vented. and now it's on your eyes, making them sticky and sore. Probably.

Edit: On a further note, what's wrong with the man? it's like hes a really boring autistic kid being attacked by non existant breezes.

I can understand your point (I'm a girl).
While you have a valid point and it is true, I think this commercial was meant as a joke. I mean come on the acting is so terrbile its sad.

It's reverse prejudice. It's that way with African Americans too. If a white man makes a joke about black people, he's branded a racist. If a black man makes a joke about white people, he's commedic gold. That's just how things work in this world.

I've had to say this before, but women being sexist is just plain prejudice. Reverse prejudice would be like me saying: "So easy, a man could do it!". Yes, it's wrong for that type of commercial, but it is meant as parody, though if the premise were reversed, then yeah, regardless of the parody intent, it'd be pulled. Well, in America, at least.

I wholeheartedly agree. It seems that men are being increasingly negatively stereotyped in the modern world's media, and we're technically defenseless against it. Then again, I don't watch much TV, so it doesn't really affect me as much.

What really irks me about the commercial is not the sexist premise, however. It's the dramatically overdone facial expressions, especially the look of childish glee on the man's face as he's shaking.

And the giggle at the end makes me want to scissor kick the narrator in public. And then cast Magic Missile.
