I'll be more inclined to drop any hate hen they stop giving crap about other shooter games. Explressing an opinion that BF3 will be better then MW3 is fine, but the amount of angry COD fans who desend to make fun of it ae just childish.

Also seconding hating the retards who assume COD is realistic.

the problem and the only reason it's succesfull is that it has a really good award system giving you the feeling that you're doing something usefull and achieving something. and rather then funn, the feeling of achievment is te main factor that keeps you playing and we all fall for it...
but when you realise that you're not having any real funn because the game doesn't rely as much on skill as it does on having alot of luck you stop playing

and basicly that's everything the game has ever been based on

further more i definitly gree with most other reasons called

Here is the problem. The company is exploiting fans of the series by mass producing games over and over again with almost no single player content worthwhile (though black ops was a *step* in the right direction compared to MW2) The game(s) is $60 twice a year, then the DLC packs are three a year, each $15, then they want to throw an elite service at you for even more. Yes, Modern Warfare 1 was a great game. But everything since has been the exact game with different maps. I'm not a CoD hater for the sate of being a hater, but look, it's a rip-off in so much as anything else quickly consumed and addictive is a rip off (see cigarettes, etc.) But at least smokers know they are being screwed. CoD fan boys act like each iteration is the next coming of christ when, in reality, it's the same game over and over again without the amazing innovation of the first one (back in the MoH dominated WWII shooter days) and MW. If you like new maps so much just get on PC and download mods instead of paying $200 a year for the "privilege." I don't actively hate it; that would be like "actively hating" McDonalds. Lets just all agree that chicken McNuggets aren't a Filet Mignon and move on.

I'm going to say this once and only once: You can never and i mean never please everyone especially in the gaming industry.

From your op it sounds like your a fan of the franchise but at the same time your trying to create some sort of fair balance between COD and the haters but that ain't gong to happen because i myself used to play COD but then moved onto better games like Bad Company 2 because there was more to offer and yes i ignore the fact there are Russians in the game but the game play itself offers more realism than i don't know COD's "One man Army" perk.

It would have been better off for yourself and others if you don't keep reviving or starting or rehashing the same COD debate because it only attracts the haters and fans into one area to brawl in.

I ended up hating COD because of how Activision basically killed it's "golden goose" Infinity Ward the moment it snapped at it. Then there's like 3 no name teams are humping Activision's leg so they can get some of that COD money. That right there makes developers and publishers look really bad. Next we all know about how the loudest and or lease gaming experienced group of the COD fan base. They make themselves and 1000's of other gamers look bad. I and many other gamers don't want that bulls-eye of obscenity throwing, drunken and childlike assholes. When they don't act like that at all.

I thought this was a thread about fish :(.

Talk about disappointing.

Why does anyone even care about FPS ranting? It won't change the game, it'll still be basically the same every time. If you like it, enjoy it, otherwise get out of the way because there are no plans to try and change up the formula.

I think a big reason is the yearly release coupled with the similarity of the campaign and a bad online community. Yes other series sequels may have slight game play tweaks like dead space 2 but it had a much different story and feel as well as giving players a break between installments. If you keep putting out what is essentially the same game every year it gets old. As for the online community its horrible never have I had to deal with so many players that I want to physically harm, yes there's assholes everywhere but it seems a good 50% of cod players either are trash talking 12 year olds or the guy giving you shit because you died it happens occasionally in other games but in cod its every match. I do enjoy the occasional match of cod but can't put up with the other players long especially in a team based mode that always turns into a tdm match. I've moved away from the series to better games but I wouldn't say I hate cod but I see where improvements could be made but never will.

I get sort of annoyed when I catch a cod...but then I remember I can just use it to catch a bigger fish. So it's not all bad.

I have a friend who keeps saying Battlefield 3 is going to be the end of Call of Duty.

I can't respond by saying how good or bad BF3 is or will be, but i am of the mindset an established popular game running 60fps on a console will sell better than playing the best version of BF3 by spending hundreds of pounds and realising you don't have enough cooling and your motherboard is dead.

I have a pc that should run BF3, but i'm not fond of the ever increasing barrier of entry in video games.

I don't mind cod, but I'd rather feast on your sole.

But enough making fish jokes for the halibut.

A lot of the sequels you claim are rehashes without innovation (akin to how they bash Call of Duty)... they at least have decent stories to go along with them. Assassin's Creed has a working formula that doesn't require major changes; many people, myself included, play it for the story. In fact, most of the games I play are for the story, and the ones that aren't usually have open world I can faff about in for days (Oblivion, Just Cause 2, New Vegas, etc). But the shooter genre? I'm not a huge multiplayer person, and the single player is... well...

"Too many people dislike something I enjoy! This is getting out of hand!"
Also, biased? Seriously? Yes, people are biased - that's called having an opinion. You should be very familiar with this.
Lastly, the reason for CoD hate isn't because the content was recycled too much, it's because the content was shit already.

Seriously i can browse the internet without seeing so many people spam about it everyhwere even in non cod related videos/articles and if you say something negative about the game they are like "go play cod" like its some knida insult when in reallity its one of the most sucessfull franchises thus a very good geame. I guess its the same as halo back then when it was bashed.
Just wanted to call you out on this. Financial success =/= good game.

I liked CoD MW. I didn't bother with MW 2 because I was told the campaign was ~ 5 mins long.

(Hyperbole, don't take it seriously I know it was a couple of hours.)

I don't like the multiplayer, that mixed with the almost non-existent single player campaign, and a complete lack of respectable co-op[footnote]Yes, I know about spec. ops and I know that it would be hard to explain away co-op without being silly within the constraints of the story without making 2P play a random in most levels[/footnote] makes it an inferior game.

I also don't like many of the people who I associate with CoD. You know the guys who rip the muffler off of their car and think that they're cool because their car is loud. Those guys.

I don't like them invading my hobby, just like they don't like Football (soccer) for being a pansy sport, they don't like people under 120kg (~250lbs) being good at sport.

The cod hate is because most COD fans think they know everything about guns yet they know jack about them so they look like fools and also its not all based on change i refused to play COD after World at War because i hate playing in the modern time as the only enemies your allowed are either the Russians (who would never invade the USA) or Terrorists or PMCs so i can see where the hate comes from.
and also because they think their game is the second coming of christ and that all other games should be exactly like it.

Haters gonna hate!

I'm pretty sure there are more people who like COD than hate it. Sure a good chunk of the PRO-COD club are children/the mentally deficient/and 20somethings with not much else going on but they're still people!!

I think the black ops story line was ok. Good twist. I play it on veteran to get the most out of it for my money!

I enjoy COD online but I find the experience is only let down by poor attitudes and the refusal to stop fucking noobtubing me!

its down to a few things,
first of all its very popularity holds it up to more scrutiny, therefore more attention positive and negative,
then there's the already mentioned fact that its becoming a yearly "EA sports style" pisstake of releasing the same game with different skins and charging full whack for it,then you have the fact that the publisher are at the forefront of a SHITLOAD of the dickiest dickmoves in dicktown at the moment vis a vis ripping off consumers as much as humanly possible,so you get backdraft from that spilling onto the game,
then you get the fact that a good percentage of cod fans are absolute fucking eejits who do themselves or the game no favours with their antics.
on a related note, about the gun thing,I have a couple of vids on youtube of me firing the SPAS 12 shotgun and I get a SHOCKING amount of comments from cod players talking complete arse about the weapon, its gotten so bad I dont reply to them anymore, got sick of replying to the same bullshit and fallacies again and again,so yeah there are more than a few players who think that because its a game loosely based on reality that it is like a frigging manual for weapons, facepalms all round.

tl/dr's are for retards. if you cant read don't post.
