civilizations revalutions (360)
more proof that rts's should stay on the computer
Too bad it was one of the best RTS's for a console and was very well adapted to the 360's controls. You also missed to whole point of the freaking thread. Congratulations!

anyways I'd say runescape is defiantly one of these kinds of games. almost 100hr of playtime and I got to level 76... I want my life back...

Also I'd say Age of Empires. I'm spoiled with better graphics and better gameplay but I always go back to play the original (Actually the only thing bad with the game is that the AI can't figure out a proper route for your people(EX- they walk strait into a wall instead of going around it))

Edit: Dang it I got ninja'd big time on the whole Civ Rev thing...

Resident Evil 4...Okay, this is generally accepted as being a great game, but it seems to piss me off one way or another at least every 30 minutes (of course, that may have something to do with me playing the terrible PC port). Still, I keep playing what ever piece of shit the game decides to throw at me. Hell, I think hate may be conductive when playing a shooter, it just makes you want to kill everything even more.

I think I'm the only person on the planet who actually LIKES "Rise of the Argonauts", even if the butchery of Greek lore makes me rage every so often. (Especially when Daedalus has you tell his pursuer that he's gone to Alexandria, WHICH DOESN'T EXIST YET!)

Pokemon Diamond.

Yup.

I'm talking about the GBA bootleg game, btw, which is clearly a hacked version of a previous Japanese GBA title. It is HILARIOUSLY bad. I'd say the translator did an awful job, but that implies he did a job in the first place.

Also, you don't catch Pokemon.

YOU GET THEIR MOBILE PHONE NUMBERS AND RING THEM UP DURING A RANDOM ENCOUNTER.
That is the gayest gameplay device of all time. Thank God I don't play pokemon anymore, it would have ruined my youth for me.
I know, right? It would have been much more masculine if you were to send smoke signals, except using your hand instead of a blanket.

Lego Star Wars. Let's face it, the controls are shit, and the bad controls are [HEADING=1]EXTREMELY[/HEADING]
frustrating, but it's addictive.
I played it for a short time, are all the puzzles just using force on a pile of legos? :D

They were all for me (but then again I didn't play for long).

Men of War.

So unbelievably bad, the difficulty curve is psychotic. The first allied mission is the hardest in the game. 'Here, take 4 men and destroy an entire German supply base with (no exaggeration) 100 infantry and about 20 vehicles including machine guns.

After that it's a doddle.

The voice acting is so bad, I think it's done by the game devs, who have a German accent. It's pretty strange to hear a German guy impersonating a British, French or American soldier. Also, the script is just plain God-Awful.

But it's so fun :D
ha! faces of war had worse voice acting. they were all american accents i mean it sounded like the same guy did every voice, at least in men of war he attempted an accent.

i hate that level aswell.

OT: im going to say republic the revolution its so bloody addictive for some bizzare reason.

I think Dynasty Warriors more or less sums this thread up to be honest. Soooooooo many games (I believe its 12 now, over all platforms, not including duplicates for each one) and yet in reality nothing has changed in them. But i buy the new one each time it comes out! WHY???!!!! Because killing hundreds of badly rendered Chinese people from AD 200 never gets old. And i don't care what people say about the dialogue its part of the fun hearing Lu Bu go "Diao CHAAAAAAAAN!!!!" in the most ridiculous DO NOT WANT moment ever.

So DW gets my vote, though (and this is going to get me murdered) Final Fantasy VII comes a close second. Graphics are terrible, Cloud is more angsty than an emo on depressants, and Sephiroth's motives are about as well explained as the reasons why John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. But I've played it for more than 200 hours!!!!

Mostly. Someitimes you do it with your hands instead of the force (gee, imagine that)
