The episode of Stargate Atlantis The Shrine from series five makes me cry. Poor Rodney. The bit on the video where he says to Dr Keller "i love you jennifer, and i have for some time now" and when McKay and Sheppard are sat together on the pier. So sad ;-;
What about in SG-1 where Janet, the field medic, is killed?

That made ME cry.

UP! The only film in recent memory that has made me cry my eyes out.
Why was it so sad? I read the summary on Wikipedia. Doesn't sound very depressing.

Sounds like a case of "I'm going to pretend to be Alex from Clockwork Orange!"

Sad Day...
I don't have many sad things happen in my life.

Hmm... saddest thing I've seen recently...
Well, a couple of days ago I watched The Outsiders for the first time since grade school and while I didn't have to choke back tears or anything, there were a couple of scenes at the end of that movie that are worth crying over. It's been a while since I was last sad enough to cry though.

For me, I only just watched Kiwi! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdUUx5FdySs&feature=related]. I can't watch that without crying now.
Yeah, I watched that a couple of months ago. It's ridiculously cute, but when you see the look on his face when he realized he accomplished his dream, you have to be some kind of robot not to feel something. And then, of course, the thud.

Last Episode of Chrono Crusade
Both Chrno and Rosette disappear after the final battle. Joshua loses all of his memory and appears to be mentally handicapped for life. When Chrno and Rosette are found six months later, they had died alone in a run-down when her clock ran out hours before. Father Remington is essentially abandoned as an angel and is forced to walk the earth for the rest of his days. Finally, in the end, Aion still lives and, like Remington, still wanders the earth. In addition, the prophecy turns out to be true and is an attempted assasination of the pope, which it is infered to be the responsibility of Aion.
I would have cried during this, but my dead soul barely lets me express any emotion to begin with, so I stuck with the general depression I get at the end of anime dramas.

When I was a kid, my favorite uncle Alfresco promised me a red bicycle for Christmas. I counted down the days, then five o' clock Christmas morning, I go down the stairs and what do I find under the tree? Uncle Alfresco, shot through the back of the head. And you know what? No red bicycle.

Kiwi made you sad? I smiled and even did a little chuckle.

What?! He died of his own accord fulfilling his life dream, that should make one happy. The thud was kind of expected. Can you believe some people convinced themselves that it was a parachute? Some people just take independent films too seriously

On Topic: Saddest thing I can think of is that there are people who actually want to make this kind of thread.

OH OH OH. Watch these films. IN ORDER

On the beach (the Australian remake)

Then watch The Last Night.

And finally, the black and white film. Stalker

You will not be the same person afterwards. On the beach is about the end of the world, The only habitable place in the world is south Australia after world war 3. Radiation killed the rest of the world, everyone IS going to die from radiation poisoning and this film HAS NO HAPPY ENDING. Unless you
count the mass suicide of Australia happy.

The last night is a Canadian film about the end of the world. Something bad is happening (It's never explained, but through out the film, it gets lighter and brighter, I guess it's to do with the sun. And ends with
everything going white and (I presume) everyone is dead.

Finally Stalker, great film, based mostly around philosophy, but at 3 hours it's a marathon. It centres 'The Zone' as mentioned by the book it was adapted from "A roadside Picnic". And yes, the games S.T.A.L.K.E.R are based on this film.

EDIT: A 4th film, Apocalypse now, extended edition. 3 and a half hours, maybe 4 as a matter of fact.

I advise that you do not read this book in long stretches and always have something cute on hand for when you're done reading. You will need it.
