Fighting games and I have a love-hate relationship.
I enjoy one on one combat, I enjoy a showcase of fighting styles, weapons, no weapons, a mix between the two.
When you can get good you are in for a treat, knowing that impressive display is your doing. I curb my expectations when I try to play online because I know I'm not that good but I expect to have a good time with the single player. I expect an about 8-40 intros and endings to enjoy, with a mix of random and fixed fights inbetween, yet even as I admit my badness and immediately set the difficulty to easy and one round fights the game still expects you to play like pro. I always try new ones to see if i can finally get an arcade mode that doesn't require you to be tournament level to complete it. it may thing a roulette of random moves is easy but it is not when the cpu can pull off every special without fail the fact that I am hit with that barrage makes it one of the most frustrating things to play. Yet I convince myself it is still worth it when i power though even thought this is the only genre of game to actually make me mad, other wise I am the most calm of people when playing even competitively. And the abuse continues as I just bought the recent humble bundle which contains KOF XIII. And I don't know if they are still like this today but I have heard of SNK's legendarily difficult final bosses.
