I havent read anywhere this, and honestly is a discusting and assholic move, basically sony released jeanne de arc and GT for the vita.

Thing is, if you buy them, you cant download them to the vita, meaning you are fucked unless you have a ps3.

they sell a product for a machine and that machine cant download it, you need another more expensive one to do it.

that is some microsoft level bullshit.

This issue has been around a week, from my understanding the games where taken out "to be fixed", and put back in, yet the issue still exist.

Sony new motto:
"Give us your money for games, and perhaps you will be able to play them"

It may have something to do with 'well, everyone who's going to own a Vita already owns a PS3/4'.

I know the only reason I bought a PSP was because I owned a PS2, and then a PS3.

I don't think this is malicious as you believe it to be. Maybe they ran into more complicated issues. I don't think Sony executives are forming the pyramid hand of evil and laughing manically like you seem to think they are.

well i did buy a psp because of the games it had (seriously ff tactics, 2 UNIQUE god of war, wipeout, 2 ace combats, several good Srpg, FF7 rpg, MOTHERFUCKING PATAPON, Good graphic and lots of cards yugioh games, etc.. etc..) i frigging loved that little gaming machine that could, yet they have been giving me the finger constantly with the vita (which for them is either a ps4 extension or a 200 dollar 16bit indy machine)

To play devil's advocate here, I've never even heard of this game. I've heard no one talking about it. I haven't even seen a review. If Sony has to decide between screwing over a small group or possibly angering a larger group over something, it's pretty clear what they're going to do. Is it acceptable? Hell no! But I can understand why they would do it.

And Vita is Sony's awkward estranged cousin that always comes around begging for money. They just chuck some money at it every now and again and hope they shut it up for a few months.

Sounds to me that it's more of a case of a glitch or mistake, then a poor, quick coding job to fix it, that didn't work. I thought, back when the PSP was still going strong, they finally let you download PSP games directly to the PSP without the need for a PC or PS3. It would seem backwards to make the more powerful system loose such a simple feature. If they don't fix it soon, then anyone affected should be given a refund. If Sony doesn't offer a refund even after people ask, then it's a dirty move and Sony really is a scumbag.

So I've come across this in the past, having both a Vita and a PS3. There are certain PSP and PS1 games that can be played on the Vita, but only by downloading them on the PS3 and then transferring them over. They never used to actually appear on the Vita PS Store, only on the PS3 PS Store. This is how I played Jeanne d'Arc and got Metal Gear Solid 1 on my Vita. The way I understood it is that they were unofficially supported for Vita, and as such couldn't be put up on the Vita PS Store, but those who wanted to try them still could, using a PS3 and transferring them over. As far as I know, this was the way things were since the launch of the Vita. I know I used this system to play Jeanne D'Arc about a year ago.

That concept itself is not great - it means that users with both machines have access to extra games, and Vita-only users aren't being told about this. However, because the games were not actually listed or available to purchase on the Vita, it was not terribly harmful.

If what you're saying is that these games are now being listed on the Vita and you can buy them without knowing that they're worthless without a PS3 - then that's a definite problem, and I agree that it should be fixed.

I don't own a Vita or PS3 and so I don't understand the issues here. Could some kind soul please explain it to me?

So first GT and Joanne of Arc are both older games? PS1/2? The PS3 was originally backwards compatable then it wasn't? Sony releases old PS1/2 games for PS3? (making you pay again?) These games are playable on both PS3 and Vita? (i.e. exactly the same downloaded files will play on both?)

So Vita has wireless? There's a store-front you can buy games for the Vita on the Vita? (including these games?) You can download games directly onto the Vita? (except these games?) You can also download Vita games onto your PS3 and then transfer them over? (To save battery on your Vita?)

I don't really get why it would be a problem to download these directly to the Vita. (Unless as someone suggested, these are officially PS3 products that happen to be playable (or partially playable) on Vita. I can see it being a cock up where they've decided that these games are stable enough on Vita so can be sold but have forgotten to update the backend so they can be downloaded. In which case Sony will presumably fix it fairly quickly? (Or alternatively they aren't stable on Vita and have been put on the store-front by mistake and the backend refuses to download them because it knows they're not going to work.)

Basically they were 2 very good psp games, they used to be available to be played only by the psp (or via ps3 to vita transfer) but not long ago, they were released in the vita store (vita store has all the games the vita can play and you can download them directly from the vita, no need for another hardware)for direct download to the vita, the issue is, once you buy it, you cant download it directly to the vita, you have to pass it via the ps3, basically making having the ps3 a necesity, yet the game is marketed as been able to direct download to the vita.

the problem is what you say, its been listed as been able to be play without a ps3, yet you cant play them
