I have to say throughout Halo it has to be Sgt. Johnson, his character was a tough S.O.B, and it pissed me off that he didn't make it to the end of the war.

Dog in Half life 2. I also liked Charon in Fallout 3. He was just so ruthless. The shotgun...

Fawkes from Fallout 3. Not for being an interesting character, but because he kills everything.
AWWW YEEEAH. Totally agree mate. Just stand back and let him do the work; what a nice break.

Also, even though he's a horse, I'm going to go with Agro from Shadow of the Colossus. Not only did he always get back up when turtles were shooting lazers at you; but he was damn FAST. And still to date the best horse animation I've ever seen (better than Assassin's Creed.)

Fuck.. I love that horse. :p

wow really? AC did a pretty good job..
Yeah, they did. But I found Agro to be more realistic in his movements, and less stiff. Not to mention, when those horses gallop, their gate is shorter but they bounce more, so Altair's bumping a foot higher in the air. :] I used to ride, so I have something to compare them to, and I just found Agro more believable.
coolies.. i guess when you jump over logs'n'crap in AC the horses just sorta stops and then bounces over and it looks silly and unnatural.

Does Cyrus count as a supporting character?

He's certainly not a front-man.
any thing that aint a front man is good.
Yeah. He's the leader of the Scout squad in Dawn of War II.

I love his morbid yet realistic attitude instead of the "WE ARE SPACE MARINES AND CAN DESTROY ALL IN OUR PATH" mentality from the rest of the characters in the game (though that can be quite funny now and then). He has a few pretty cool quotes, and if you think things through, he's a very powerful character as opposed to your melee powerhouse or heavy ranged damage groups. He can sneak around and kill enemies before they know he's there, one-shot enemies with a special sniper rifle ability...just overall awesome, though most people discard him in favor of a more direct approach.

I really like Cyrus, but if party NPCs count, Fawkes and HK-47 are another favorites. Oh, and Luigi if he counts as a supporting character, he's fucking awesome, 10 times moreso than Mario.

Really. The horse animations (except for the jumping in AC) is great, but is SoTC, Aggro's movements are EXCELLENT. I've seen actual horses move less realistically than him. He's also a little stubborn, like most horses. He doesn't handle like a car would. Sometimes he'll want to turn left, so you have to tug him a little more strongly to the right. Stuff like that.

What about HK-47 from nights of the old republic. Now that droid had charecter.

I also loved Balthier from Final fantasy 12, he kept insisting he was the leading man.

What about Brucie Kibbutz from GTA 4? He was about the only charecter I liked it the whole game. Alpha male.
