While working as a Military Police officer, dispatch received a call from a lady about a wild animal at an on-base house that had her trapped in her car. Dispatch called me on the phone rather than over the radio. The animal was a cat; but it was "staring" at her, and she felt like it was going to attack her.Inarticulate_Underachiever said:Right now he's sitting on my porch...
I grabbed one of the other guys that was typing a report and said "Hey! We gotta go now! Something is going on!" He was working the flightline security, so he had an M-16 with him. He grabs his weapon and we hop in my SUV - I turn lights on and speed out of the parking lot. He's asking "What's going on? What's going on?!"
Real dramatically I say "Well... we've got... what appears to be a... house cat... looking at a lady in her car." I turn lights off and he's looking at me like WTF. I let him in on the whole story.
So we get to the house and sure enough, the lady is sitting in her car waiting for us. I get up to her car and she opens the door a bit and points to the cat that is sitting in her yard. "That cat doesn't look right. Do you see the way he's just staring at us? Cats aren't supposed to do that. Can you just shoot him or something?" I told her that we would call animal control if he continued to be a problem (but it was so hard to be serious about the matter). So I approach the cat, and as I get about 5 feet away he just runs off down the street.
So, that one was not THE demon-cat. I was kind of hoping it would charge us or do something crazy, to be honest. That would have led to a much more interesting story that a lady scared of a cat. I am always on the lookout for Pinky the Cat though... You should beware if you ever see him: http://www.killsometime.com/video/video.asp?ID=209 - one of the funniest videos I've ever seen.
