This Vita hate train is getting ridiculous.

Why is it that everyone thinks the Vita is going to fail? Does it kill for anyone to be optimistic for once? Of course the Vita has issues separate memory unit and the price but overall the Vita has been getting great games and has been selling systems. But people are so fixated on it failing, every console has a rocky start you can't expect every portable system to fly off the shells at its release.

I see someone is being a bit sensitive wanting to protect his investment :)

But seriously, I havent got one yet for two reasons, firstly is the price, I juts cant justify spending that amount on a handheld.
My second reason is slowly becoming obsolete, as it was due to the lack of titles, but the games are starting to come now, and they looking good. I am bummed I cant play Soul Sacrifice, looks awesome!
Of course if I had friends who also had it then I would buy it for multiplayer, but I dont.

I've found that most people who want the Vita to fail are those who can't afford to buy one. They also force themselves into this silly belief that the system has no games, even though the console launched with around 30 titles.

I suspect that Sony are planning on reducing the price of the console closer to the Christmas period. Perhaps by that time we'll see greater sales.

EDIT: Oh, what do you know, the guy above me just proved my point haha.

From what I can tell, it's a combination of money(mentioned), denial(they gave it a WipEout game, ffs), and the fact that it is newer tech that threatens to change something, anything. Remember when Apple was put to the embers for the iPod, then iPhone, then iPad? The Chevy Corvette is moving towards a more European direction, GM has and is and will always get flak for that. Humans, in general, don't like change. Humans are also very vocal and, like chimps, have a tendency to fling thier crap when something changes.

Oh, I almost forgot, AT&T. THAT one is legit.

What great games does it have? I have one and the games Ive bought for it include Persona 3 and 4, Silent hill: Book of memories, and recently soul sacrifice. Thats it. An argument could be made for walking dead (which I already own on PC) and for Thomas was alone (which I already have on PC) but thats as far as Im going to go

The problem with the Vita has always been its lack of great games and it continues to be the Vita's biggest problem. That is changing but its changing quite slowly because developers dont want to put games on it because they dont sell. Paradoxically there arent many good games on it so people dont want to buy it.

Thats not hate for the Vita its just the reality. For what it does I quite like my Vita but the problem is still there. A lack of great games to make the purchase feel worthwhile. IMO right now the vita has failed to sell but its because of so few games

I would totally be on a hate-train about 7 months ago, when the only games for Vita I had were Uncharted and Mortal Kombat. But now, I have Persona 4: Golden, Atelier Totori, Dead or Alive 5+, Little Big Planet Vita, Persona 3: Portable, Front Mission 3, and Dino Crisis 2. So yeah, Vita kinda rocks.

I think the Wii U bares the brunt of the hate these days. The Vita people just don't really seem to give a damn about anymore.

There is just nothing I want to play on it really. It actually is getting it's library rolling, but nothing is screaming at me to play it. Persona 4 Golden would, if I hadn't already played P4. Will I get one some day? Probably, because there is always that 1 game or feature that I must have on a system:

PC: Neverwinter Nights
GBA: Golden Sun
PS2: Kingdom Hearts
DS: Castlevaina: Dawn of Sorrow
360: Mass Effect
PSP: PS1 game emulation
PC (upgraded): Modding

In the future:
3DS: Probably Fire Emblem Awakening, just don't have the cash right now.
Vita: ???
PS4: Maybe Watch_Dogs if the 360 gets a shit version. Or I will get it on PC if I have upgraded sufficiently by then.
Wii U: Maybe Bayonetta 2? I love Platinum to death, but spectacle fighters are not something I really buy a system for.

The only games it has that I would want to play or that I don't have on other systems are Persona 3 and 4 and I'd rather buy a Playstation 2 to play those than get a Vita.

NINTENDO IS LAST GEN! IT HAS NO GAMES! IT...oh wait, wrong company. XD

Vita is hurting, I'm not rooting for the thing to fail but it looks like it will. Funny enough, it is suffering many of the problems it has with the Wii-U in it is lacking the constant stream of releases to keep the wagon rolling.

Yeah, I think it's more of an indifference train. I sometimes forget the Vita even exists. I might like one for Disgaea and Persona... but it doesn't seem worth it for portable versions of games I already have.

Soul Sacrifice is fantastic, but on the subject of the Vita, I haven't heard anybody talk about it failing for a while now, I didn't get it when it first launched, but after a while it got enough games for me to justify the purchase, think something's going to fail before it comes out I think is justifiable, you guess at what will happen, actively hoping it will fail after it's been out for a while is ridiculous.

Persona 4 Golden, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, Silent Hill Book of Memories, Assassin's Creed, Zero Escape, Uncharted, and these are just the really good Vita exclusives, there's a huge amount of really good ports, not to mention being able to play the regular PSP games with a good control scheme since the system lets you assign the second stick, at least now when I'm playing any 1st/3rd person game I have good camera control.

......Since when did it have a hate train? I thought it was less 'hate' and more 'whatever'.

I'm indifferent to the system as others have mentioned there is little to get exited about.

Also I have a PsP and although I have a small selection of good games for it, It just kinda feels like a waste of money. Its no where near as good as my DS. I suspect the Vita will suffer the same fate. I think I'll spend my money on a new 3DS There are lots of games I want coming out for that :)

If I had some foresight, I would have gotten the Vita instead of my 3DS. The pathetic browser, lack of ability to play videos and ridiculously expensive games (Mario Kart 7 is STILL $64 in Australia and $70 to download in the e-store), the stupid region locking and the lack of a decent core-gamer game after so long is really bumming me out. Seriously, nintendo, where's Metroid Prime Hunters, Smash Bros, Jump All Stars? Come on!

Unfortunately, it's more cost effective to upgrade my tablet and smartphone right now. Maybe if there's a price drop and a good bundle, I might get a Vita, especially if Terraria comes out for it. Maybe a remake of Dissidia Duodecim on that (man I loved that).

I think people think this because of the PSP, which wasn't a failure but didn't go anywhere. The PSP was also quite a bit more powerful then the DS, and that's exactly the only thing the Vita has going for it against it's current competitor; the 3DS. It's the same players in the same game, with both competitors having the same pros and cons they did before. Things could turn out differently, sure, but do you really blame people for thinking everything will turn out the same?

Because it does look like a hell of a train wreck right now.
I know a lot of fanboys are going to tell me about all of the "amazing games" it has, but lets be honest, most f what it got are ports of its console brethren, if not a direct port then its more of the same games, more Uncharted, more LBP, more Killzone.
Even its killer app,Persona 4 Golden is a PS2 game with some extras, it's not looking good right now.
After its launch I didn't feel like Sony was giving the Vita much attention and now that it's bigger brother the PS4 is coming out I expect it to be pushed further into the sidelines.

What's worse that when it does get attention, it is marketed as a portable PS3 instead of its own thing, and that maybe what's killing it, people already have PS3's so an inferior version is pointless, but for those who fell into it and bought it for that reason, they are disappointed as hell(at least the ones I know) since it doesn't have anywhere near a library of its console brother.

It doesn't have much going for it right now and Sony looks like it doesn't know what it wants to do with it, so I can't see this thing succeeding in the future and since I don't have any stocks at Sony, I might as well watch the train crash.
