Sony Playstation?s "Michael" Advert.
Don't get me wrong, the scene was epic, but its reason for existing (to advertise that the PS3 had dropped in price or something) was a huge letdown and I felt massively disappointed as Sony did promise ?Something Big?.

I also felt that the ad was wasted on such a pitiful message. It should have been saved for something more worthwhile.

If I've done this right then underneath should be the youtube video.

Skyrim, that shit generated more hype than a fukken genetically enhanced Peter Molyneux clone injected with adrenaline and methamphetamines while hyping up the video game version of the cold war along with his cohort the holographic ghost of McCarthy. And what we got was Oblivion in the winter, but y'know with like 3 new enemy types, and a recolor of everything else. Oh and in true 'thesda fashion it was buggier than a junkyard couch filled with millipedes. And yet... People still ate that shit up like fat bastard and Augustus Gloop's overgrown lovechild at a Denny's.
What an absolutely brilliant analogy. Totally agree.

Biggest disappointment for me was Duke (however obvious that is). I knew it wouldn't be great but I never expected it to be so broken. Strangely the game played the way it should have done only in the last boss fight, it finally felt run and gun. It still perplexes me to this day over how the end fight is better than the rest of the game.

From a gameplay standpoint, Saints Row the Third is the best game I've played this year, and one of the best games I've ever played in general. However

Gat gets the award for "Worst death ever". His death alone was handled badly enough to very nearly fuck over the enitre game for me. Not only because it was handled in such a way that anybody who's ever played any action game ever would assume that he's not really dead and that he's going to come back later (No game should ever kill off a main character, and then have all the other characters know that he's dead and have the player not know), and not only because his death was for some completely unknown reason showcased in one of the gameplay trailers, but because he was basically the 2nd to main character, and he was killed by the most meaningless gang in Saints Row the Third. Seriously, you take out the leader of the Deckers not even halfway through the fucking game. It's like if the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows showcased Ron getting killed in a rockslide.

A lot of people are saying skyrim because of the overwhelming hype it produced, but i cant say i was dissapointed. Yes, it didnt bring TOO much to the table compared to oblivion, except better NPC's, a few different enemies, dual-wielding and little bits and pieces, but deep down thats all i wanted it to be. I have such good memories of playing oblivion that i secretly wanted skyrim to be the same, just with a few issues rectified. That is exactly what has ahppened and i am extremely satisfied with it.
