Did anyone like this? I LOVED it. It was my favorite show ever, and always will be. I used to watch it all the time, and I still have my collection of original trains that my grandad got me. I was shocked when I found out they were actually models, rather than actual trains..

Here's the 1st ever episode:
I always preferred Tasha the Tank Engine

Okay okay, horrible dark humor out of the way; yes. I loved that show as a kid

Oh yeah it was one of my favorite shows. I even watch it at this age sometimes. It mellows me out now. Also, I find the name "Fat controller" quite hilarious. Also, also, Ringo Starr... fuck yeah!

I used to watch this show with my great grandparents when I was younger, and my great grandfather would explain how the different trains worked. So yeah this is high on wonderful memory fuel. It really also started my absolute fascination with trains, especially the Steam Engine.

I think at one point I had every single train. Yes, ALL of them. This is not even slightly embelished.

Yes, I was a fan.

I've still got most of the toys in a lunchbox somewhere in the garage, seen better days though.

This was my childhood. I had all the wooden and metal trains, posters, bedcovers, everything. My grandmother made me an awesome Thomas the Tank Engine cake for my 4th or 5th birthday. I even had a giant book containing all the original stories. I'd still have it today, if I hadn't read it so much it fell apart.

I am now going to see how many of the trains and other characters I can name of the top of my head
Thomas
Percy
James
Gordan
Henry
Edward
Annie and Clarabel
Donald
Douglas
Diesel
Duck
Harold (Helicopter)
Bertie (Bus)
Terrance (Tractor I think)
Toby
Oliver
Mavis
How did you forget the twin trains Bill and Ben!?!?!?!

OT: Yes, i LOVED this programme...it's crap now though =\
I was about to say I'm not counting new characters, but then I did a quick Google search and Bill and Ben were in the Railway series. Huh, I honestly don't remember ever seeing them. I think I got everyone else though.

Or Duncan, Rusty, Skarloey, Duke, Sir Handle, Trevor, the Flying Scotsman, Bill, Ben, Boco, Stephanie, Henrietta, Cranky the Crane, the lady with the giant green hat, the man with the bootlaces, and that cheeky faced truck who got smashed spectacularly by Oliver.

It was a nice childhood.
Okay first of, I wasn't doing people. Thanks for reminding me of Duncan (I thought I put him on my list), Rusty, Skarloey, Duke, Trevor, Boco, Stepney and Henrietta. I don'y recognise the other ones, but apparently they were there.

And you all forgot Daisy.

quick fact, Before Joining up with Freddy Mercury to make Queen, Roger Taylor and Brian May were part of a band named Smile, with Tim Staffell. Tim quit the music business and became the chief model maker for Thomas The Tank Engine.

I still love taking the train because of this show. I don't have any of my Thomas the Tank Engine stuff anymore though, gave it all way to my young cousins, who are in love with the show themselves.

I could have been considered obsessed with it. Any Thomas the Tank Engine merchandise there was, I probably had it. I gave most of it though to my baby cousin who loves Thomas as much as I did. I still have tge metal toys that they don't make anymore; I've got Thomas, Percy, Gordon, Edward, Henry, James, Ben, Bill, Anna and Clarabell, and Terrance. I also went to the movie with Diesal 10 when it was out in theaters, and still have the VHS. However, as much as I loved it, I honestly don't like the fact that they make Thomas and his friends mouths move with CGI. Now I knew it was bound to happen, but I grew up with it not being CGI and I personally like it better without it.
Now if you'll all excuse me, I want to go watch the Thomas movie now.

I actually don't remember watching it much as a child. I know that I did but I just don't remember any specifics. Mostly I've been watching a lot when my family takes care of my nephew. He loves the show and I tend to enjoy it as well, certainly more so than the other shows he likes such as Caillou, Clifford, Max and Ruby, etc. I will say that I don't really like it when they show episodes where they use CG and have everyone with individual voices, it kind of ruins the charm and storybook feel. Plus its better when they get celebrities like George Carlin or Pierce Brosnan to narrate.
