There's no Xbox exclusives that I really want but there is a load of PS3 exclusives i'd like my friends to get. It sucks having all these awesome games and not being able to talk to my friends about them.

It'd be nice if Disgaea 3 and Demon Souls were multi-platform.

Exclusives are a way of making money off of people and guarantee the success of a platform at the expense of other gamers (it's like paying huge money for some famous star/singer whatever to come to your birthday party and ignore Timmys), as such I find it despicable and will not buy into it by principle even though I have more than enough money...

Timmy does not have enough money to pay for the famous singer. He cannot complain that the singer won't sing to him for free. He wants him/her to sing to him? Save up the money or complain to his parents enough times. Or if he's really determined, wait until his 40th birthday when the singer is a washed-up has-been for cheep prices.

There is simply no other reason a game that is on the X360 or the PS3 couldn't be released on the other and additionally on the PC.

Except, you know if;
1. The company is owned by the console company (1st/2nd party)
2. The company is very comfortable with the system they've already worked on for years (I.E. PS2, 360)
3. The company says "It's too hard to work on the console!#!#" (VALVe until E3)
4. The company is paid to make it exclusive.
5. The company believes that they will not make enough money to recouperate money spent on the console.
6. The company does not have the resources to make a game for another system.

Take your pick. You're complaining that PS3 games aren't available for your "godly PC Master race"? Tough noogies, buy the damn console if you want the games it offers so bad, and if not then don't bother.

I'll rather invest more into my "open" platform, which is the PC and rely on emulation to that end...

Yes, I know, you're a little late on the draw there. I'm the #1 Self-Admitted-Sony-Fanboy on the Escapist, I know that I have a bias with Sony made products. That doesn't make my opinion any less valid, or my post any less right. As for my "I paid $600 for my console, so don't copmlain!" comment, I still see people say "The PS3 is too expensive!" even though it's cut down to half it's original price and people are stuck in 2007. You can't complain about a huge price cut that bumps the price down to the price everything else is.

I love my PS3, but I understand that other people may not. People have their own quirks and desires from their play-things. But that doesn't mean you can just go off and complain that one console has some games that you want. I'd love for Mass Effect or L4D2 to go to the PS3, but I know that that's probably not going to happen. I'm either going to have to buy the damn console or move on with my life.

I think the reason why its not coming to pc becuase since it will be cross-platform play between 360 and PS3 (I believe so) it would be cheap if pc players also played.

I own a PC and a Wii (and a broken PS2). So current-gen gaming only happens on my PC. One thing that definitely made me RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE was the Prince of Persia DLC only being available on Xbox 360. Also, Assassin's Creed 2 (yes, I know there's a PC version, but I refuse to play that piece of shit, DRM and everything).

Something that makes me slightly annoyed is finding any decent PS2 games or any Gamecube games at all anymore... I wanted to play Persona 3 on my PS2 (or actually emulator, since the actual console is dead) and legally, but I couldn't find it anywhere; so I ended up with a downloaded UNDUB, which means that yet again the pirate gets the superior copy.

I have the game on my PS2. By the looks of the PSP game, the PS2 game looks superior.

Y'see i'd agree with your point, With one exception.

I dont want a PS3, Ive played one, I dont like the controller, Etc. Sure im probably a mini 360 Fanboy, but i gave the PS3 a chance, And sure, if i got one, I would probably play it a lot more than if i ever invested in what i consider to be the glorified paperweight that is the Wii.

But then again, Im not spending a couple hundred pounds to play MAG, the only game i'd consider getting if i was to get the PS2.

So the exception (to clarify):

Well, yeah, that's a general rule of thumb (or whatever rule of common sense there is). You're not going to buy a truck or a Hummer if you don't have any use for the huge amount of space it provides for outdorsy people.

You may not like the PS3, that's fine, but it's still a pitiful excuse to make an exclusive go to your console. I don't care much for the 360, but I don't complain that Mass Effect or L4D2 isn't on the PS3. I have a few options;

1. Save up for a 360
2. Upgrade my crap-tastic PC
3. Forget about it and go on with my life.

If Mass Effect or L4D2 go to the PS3 in the future, that's great for me. But until then, I can't complain that the 360 has an exclusive that I want for free (that's generally what it boils down to really).

you need to have a word with a good 50% of the people in my town then..so many people have freaking trucks and hummers and 75% of the time its some skinny ass ***** who can't drive, and its pretty damn clear she doesn't use em what they are built for.\


OT:well seeing as how i've collected all the consoles and have a decent pc at the moment...exclusives are not a problem =]

I'm a PC gamer, and the exclusives that I'd REALLY want to play on my platform of choice would be in descending order Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Fatal Frame 1-4, Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4, every Castlevania game, every Metroid, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted, inFamous, Heavy Rain and I cannot remember any more games.
But apart from that I'm VERY happy to have a PC.

All those reasons are exactly the same, it is a piss contest between two parties, in which there's usually only one loser: the consumer. There's no technical reason whatsoever a PS3/XBOX360 game could be on the other console or the PC (Wii obviously not being possible because of the low raw power of the console, which is about on par with an iPhone).

Bam, MGS4 creator Hideo Kojima had repeatedly stated that it would be near impossible, or very difficult, to convert MGS4 to 360. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/85903-Leave-Hideo-Kojima-Alone] And that was 2 years ago! And people still complain about MGs4 being PS3 exclusive.

Another Bam Media Molecule states that LBP is impossible on 360 as there is no standardized harddrive [http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/10/devs-say-little-big-planet-not-possible-on-the-360/]. And people still complain about it!

I'm not talking about PC gaming, I'm talking about console gaming. For all I know Pc gaming could probably allow 10 blu-ray games to be stuffed on one disc. Whatever.

I'm not complaining about anything, and I'll get to play them soon enough on my PC, like all PS1 and all PS2 and Wii games already with better graphics and in a higher resolution. It's just a question of time xD

You misunderstood, I was saying that because you invested 600$ back then (and don't want to admit that it might not have been the best), you seem to feel the urge to rationalize and defend your choice before everyone else that doesn't have the opinion that the PS3 is the best thing since sliced bread by basically saying "Mah console is teh best console evah and ya'lls haters!"

Sure, that may be one of the reasons why I'm a self-admitted Sony fanboy, but I understand that the PS3 is not for everyone. Not everyone is going to like the games it offers or the features it gives. That's fine.

But like I said before, that doesn't invalidate my original post (or my general opinions). A fact of life is that if you want something, and it costs money, you're going to have to save up. Simple as that. Yet I constantly see people complaining about exclusives, while also saying "The PS3 has no good games!". Guess what? It's how businesses work. And that's hypocrisy.
