The Halo series. I find them to be sub-par as games, but I find the universe and mythology to be pretty interesting.
Same. Though, I usually try to stay away from FPS's anymore because they all seem to end up the same.
This, although I love the whole epic space opera storyline, it has been done better. (Mass Effect to a certain extent!)but I just love the ott characters and ridiculous storyline enough to negate the terrible graphics and rabbid multiplayer fan base.

Also, I feel I should hate Alan Wake. It is flawed both graphicaly and in terms of certain gameplay and design aspects but I frickin' love it!

Uncharted 2.

From what I saw, it was just an art show. Great graphics, but ripped off story, characters and game play with a horrible main character. But, I just couldn't dislike it. It still isn't the game of the year people make it out to be, but it is very entertaining and the cheats combined with the Give Weapons feature is some of the most fun I've had in any game.

What's this wishy-washy "want to hate" stuff?

If I want to hate something, I hate it. For instance, while Mirror's Edge is an interesting idea, it fuck right off because of its awful gameplay and annoyingly puzzle-esque gameplay.

And I wanted to hate Far Cry 2 right from the start, and I do!

You guys need to show your emotions who's boss.

Mercanaries 2.

It was buggy, repetative, terrible story, terible graphics, cheesy voice acting.

But my inner child just loves to blow stuff up with lots of explosives.

Given how much I dislike macho-bullsh*t, I should by all means hate the Gears of War series, however they are some of my favorite games on the 360. I often find myself facepalming at my testosterone pumped lump of a character, and yet I keep playing and really enjoying myself.

Mine has to be Bioshock. After hearing how overhyped it was, I really did try not to like it.
You wanted to hate the game because of all the hype it revived? Yet you still really liked the game? Doesn't sound like it was over hyped at all rather it was actually that good.
when a game gets overhyped I tend to think thats it's just because they like the graphics, or they think the story is great despite bad gameplay. When I played Bioshock, I found niether problems.
... So the game was actually deserving of all the praise it got? Then it wasn't over hyped and it was actually just a good game?

Rock Revolution. Because at the end of the day, it's kinda like insulting an obese, retarded child. It's just not worth any amount of time.

Honestly, Dante's Inferno. In my opinion, the gameplay is a direct rip-off of God of War, and the story is almost oppressively linear. Nonetheless, I found it surprisingly fun, and easy to play through multiple times without getting tired of it. I'm still not tired of it. :]

Also, World of Warcraft. I'm not addicted, and I go through phases where I'll play it nonstop for several days, but then I won't play it again for a month. It's just something I find entertaining when I have nothing better to do. However, I kind of want to hold a grudge against it because of how badly other people get addicted to it, even though I know it's their fault, not WoW's.
