You're an amateur French disliker, my friend! The British... we're the pros. We've got hating the French down to a fine art. And the Germans, even ignoring the wars.
Oh, and Poland, recently.

Point is, people hold grudges for a lot longer than 200 years.

Actually, most Brits quite like the Germans (well, ignoring the skinhead types who run around chanting "Two World Wars and One World Cup!"), and tend to not hold grudges (and also recognise that the Nazis did not represent the majority of Germans, nor the German troops).

The French, however, present a special case. The French don't like us much, and we don't like the French much . If I remember correctly, England and France have been to war against each other more times than all the conflicts between all the other nations of the globe added together. That's quite a legacy to have behind you, particularly when you sit down and try to negotiate deals about international European farming subsidies *grumble*.

Many people on youtube need to be sat down and given a nice cup of tea.

And as for the British disliking the US, we seem to mostly at least dislike everyone - or if not dislike, can definately complain about in a vaguely sarcastic manner.

YouTube comments are mostly made by hopelessly ignorant teenagers with chips on their shoulders.

what makes me laugh is that now we have to share a navy with them! to save money we share our nice big historic navy with the french. when the majority of our ships in history have probably been blown up by them. oh dear. im too tired to look up actual statistics but does make me chuckle
