They have my attention with the idea...but I'm going to reserve judgement. Something about it just smacks of bloated budgets that don't provide the end result everyone is expecting.

If the writing is actually decent for once (and for such an epic proposition as a decade-long franchise with intriguing possibilities for the form as well as the genre it had bloody better be) then it will work out. If it's not, when they have access to some of the supposed best and brightest in the industry, then I will not be surprised.

And as for people don' play fps games with a M+KB I say wut, there are a hell of a lot of shooters played on PC with M+KB. So as far as i'm concerned Bungie can go swivel.
Not to mention you could still use a mouse and keyboard for Xbox 360 and PS3 games if you wanted to invest the couple hundred dollars into the adapter.

All the story of that trailer screamed Halo 4's story.

For those that don't know in Halo 4 it's revealed that humans were a super advanced society who fought against the flood before the Forerunners and were only brought down when the Forerunners started a war against them while they were still fighting the flood; even then Humans still almost won the war. (That's not spoiler by the way only backstory)

But the traveler is the Librarian, globe above the earth her ark a new covenant with the unsc reduced to a city etc.

Story aside I would be more interested in the game if it were a third person shooter rather than first, but I hold no expectations on Bungie's next game.

I'm cautiously optimistic; I'm reserving judgement until I've seen more of it, but what they showed me in that ViDoc looked like it could turn out to be a pretty good game.

I like Bungie's work, I like FPSes, I like MMOs (particularly Planetside) and I have an Xbox.

Yeah, seems interesting. More of the same military space opera stuff, but that's kind of their thing so whatever. The actual game itself looks decent for an alpha/beta (unless that was scripted and amped up for the vidoc). Story seems interesting enough. Yeah, I'm interested.

Obviously I need more information, but as of now it looks promising.

Edit: Gotta love the fact that half the comments in this thread are people bitching about that one quote.

Oni 2 pl0x?
Someone else own Oni now (take two I think) not sure but yeah... Wouldn't that be the best thing ever. I have so many fond memories, I liked the TCTF officers You know... before they go all evil If any of them died I would restart the mission to try and save them... Pretty sad I know :3

Before this release I was kind of interested in Project Destiny. Now, though, I can see it might not be as good as previously hoped. I'm worried it might come out too much like Halo. It was a great IP with a lot of influence, yes, but they dropped the ball and 343 picked it up, and released the first truly good Halo since Combat Evolved. Destiny seems way too much like Halo, and the general consumer is going to see that as well, and will probably figure that if they want to play Halo, they'll wait for 343's next release. Bungie will probably get the crowd of people who want to see if it's good anyway, they'll get people who think it is radically different, and they'll get the crowd of people who for some reason think that 343 stole Halo and that any Halo game not made by Bungie is a lie.

I'm very excited, there isn't anything they've revealed that I don't like. The concept is very promising, and pretty sure it will deliver.

If anyone else is excited, you can join the Destiny user group that I am totally not advertising right now.

I am very excited by this, I understand the need to be always online as it might not be an MMO as such but the game needs to be online to achieve what they are going for. I like the idea of a sci fi Skyrimesque experience but with responsive, intuitive combat. I like the idea of an MMO style, always on world but without the hang ups and stuff that MMOs have.

I am most excited by the idea of other players showing up as I explore either alone or with friends. It does seem like my sorta game, if I'm in the mood for co-op, solo or PvP play its all there, if I wanna just hang out, socialize and gamble etc in The City I can.

It seems awesome to me but I have faith in Bungie.

I think they can deliver

I was hoping for something that less Marathon/Halo-ish. I'd like to see them make a game not in space, like Myth. Of course, I love Bungie, and I'll be watching news with interest. If it looks good, I'll buy it after reviews come out, I think. So, yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic about Destiny.

So I just stumbled across the first vidoc for Bungie's next game, Project: Destiny, and I must say, I'm rather intrigued. I certainly wasn't expecting to hear anything about it for another year or so, considering we only got concept art a few months back. Here's the video:

Thoughts? Feels? Buttsecks?
I was intrigued, up until the MMO part. This one Kotaku article about it mentioned Journey, but you could play that game by yourself if you wanted to, and if Destiny won't let me do that, I'm out. I don't want to play with other people, dammit.

I was mildly intrigued, until I saw the ViDoc.

Oh, the vid started out fine, but it quickly devolved into a lot of buzz words, vague ideas, grandiose promises, talk of current or antiquated tech as if it was "new, cutting edge, and revolutionary", and an incredibly pretentious circle-jerk of "We're Bungie and we're fucking awesome because we copied a bunch of ideas from other designers, claimed we invented them, and released a commercially successful game".

Add to that the lack of a PC version or even a hint of interest in supporting it (at a corporate level), plans for a 10 year monetization model for the series (already? pretentiously presumptuous much?), and Mr. Jones comments and I've little, if any, interest left in Bungie's latest venture.

I am cautiously optimistic. They have been working on this since 2009 and will probably be released either at the end of this year or the start of next year so they have had time to work on it. The concept art looks good and the background plot is Space Operary enough to suit my tastes. However we really have only seen concept art and very little game play footage and i am not a huge fan of MMO's But I am willing to give this game a go as it does seem to be a bit of a change from the current FPS's of the day and i would like to see that.

I would have also liked to have had it on the PC as well, not because i would prefer to play it on that but because i think it would be better not to have a console only market so that more people could play the games. this opinion is not just for this game but for all games in general

On a side note if i could have as much fun just playing by myself, with the odd encounter by other players, as if i was playing with friends then that would be even better
