Thoughts on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle Demo

Just played the demo of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle on PS3 and i wasn't very impressed.. the graphics were ok, although I prefer Cell shading for games based on manga properties(especially since Cyber Connect2 is well known for doing cell shading so well with the Ultimate Ninja Storm series).. beyond the ok graphics, i just found the controls awkward.. you can side step around around in a 3D area but the attacks are more suited for a 2D fighter (like Street Fighter or Persona 4 Arena).. having the controls the way they were just doesn't work well..

i suppose it might be fun if your familiar with the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga (which I've never even heard of) but I can't really see it being worth $50 dollars when Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series does 3D arena fighting better and Persona 4 Arena does 2d fighting better. I would cut it slack cause it's a demo , but the full game has been out in Japan since last August..
so their's no real excuse..

I didn't like it much, but what does everyone else think of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle Demo on PS3?

I think it's a game for the fans, which is alright. Anyone not familiar with the series probably won't be interested in it anyways. I have a friend who is definately buying this game day one because he loves the series. I on the other hand have absolutely no interest, because it's not a "serious" fighting game. Probably won't see many JJBA:ASB tournaments here in north america.

Speaking of north america, how popular is this game in japan?

I may tell your friend not to buy the game or atleast read a review. I typically hate anime but loved this one. That said, the game has fighters which you unlock but the process appears to border on tedious and has in app purchases to ease the process. I'm also not a pro on fighters but I heard the game is pretty broken. This all may be fixed when they send it over but those two things make it a hard sell for me.

I think I read somewhere that they fixed that in an update.
