Your thoughts on the entire series. The Games, Anime, anything.
I personally love the games but think the anime can go fuck itself.
Pokemon Black & White look good.

Well, can't much speak for anything but the games.

But for the games, they're insanely deep, strategic, and fun RPG's hidden under a child-like veil.

But make no mistake, its hardcore. In Heartgold/Soulsilver, you will leave the Battle Tower as a broken person in tears.

And don't get me started on fucking Miltank.

One one hand, it seems like they've beat that franchise to death.

On the other hand, that they can still come up with new material for games and shows and stuff is pretty amazing. Gotta hand it to their creativity and hard work.

Pokemon is fun to revisit every now and then if simply only for nostalgias sake.

but for what its's worth i think that it's gotten a little ridiculous with how many games are out and how many pokemon there are to catch...

and slowbro will always be the best. FACT.

They're some of the best games ever made. I only watched the show when I was a kid so I don't remember much but I know that little five year old me loved it.

4kids has butchered every japanese anime to come to america.

As for the anime in its pure form?

VG cats said it best.

I've never gotten into the games. I bought two of them, I play them for like 20 hours, get to the third or so Gym Leader, then get bored with the game. So I put it back and go play something else. I hate myself for this, since I hear such amazing things about the game, but I just can't play them for very long.

But the first seasons of the anime were amazing.

The games are certainly amazing works (I have put over 350 hours into Heart Gold), and I don't see them ending the series anytime soon. After all, Heart Gold and Soul Silver were remakes of old games and they still sold like crazy. As for the anime, I remember watching and enjoying it as a kid, but I tried to watch some of the more recent stuff for nostalgia and felt it lacking. They are trying too hard to make the anime match the game, and the jokes seem forced. If I were still a elementary student though, I would probably watch it.

That was hysterical. I love reading about the paranoid fantasies of the delusional.

On topic: Personally, Pokemon as whole can go fuck itself. I spent accumulated weeks obsessively compulsively playing through a single one of the games several times, and it wasn't until a got a second game and began working through that one that I realised I was doing the same things repeatedly and expecting a different result, therefore I stopped. People are welcome to play them (it isn't as if I will change anyone's opinion), but to me Pokemon induces a mixture of apathy and rage. Oh well.

I used to be into pokemon. I nolifed the gameboy color games up to a ridiculous extent and was a huge fan of the animated series. I also played the advance games a lot, but the ammount of pokemon got really overwhealming after that. I kind of lost interest at that point and haven't played the games or watched the series after that.

What I remember of the anime is that it as OK, although it took them WAY too long to get from one city to another.

The games however I have spent hundreds or even thousands of hours playing even though some parts are really frustrating. That said, I'm still not sure whether I'll get Pokemon Black and white or not as there are now just too many pokemon that require you to trade or hack into the game to get.

I own FireRed, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, and Platinum. I've owned one of every set of generation 2 onwards, and may actually have owned/played Red/Blue/Yellow before.

I caught all 386 Pokemon (Generation 1-3) all by trading and legitimate means 3 days before Pokemon Diamond and Pearl came out in Japan.

I think that says enough.

I do the stories of the games, then I collect, then I breed Pokes for my friends with special moves and high IVs and specially train them for competitive builds. It is a massively deep game series that people are calling crap more and more due to Nintendo putting everything they can think of in the series. That just adds to it, in my opinion, because with every generation comes another new level of strategy, and this generation will have that happen doubly so because of 3-vs-3 battling.

TL;DR: I like the games.

The anime I'd watch, if it comes on. First seasons were great, and I actually borrowed a friend's VHSes of them to transfer to DVD by his request. What a blast of nostalgia.

It's asking for an MMORPG. Nintendo outright refuses to make one, but it's seriously the best option available. At least then, hours and hours of samey gameplay and release after release of the same game would be expected. They're also toying with wi-fi and connection. It just seems like the logical transition. It doesn't even have to be turn-based. It can be something radically different, like no one has ever tried before. I'd plead before Nintendo to make this possible if I could actually afford an MMO.

A properly done Pokemon MMO would remove the need for generations, too. They could just release updates with new Pokemon when they've worked out the balance issues.

...though the issues of Legendaries would be... interesting to resolve.

To be honest, I used to love Pokemon back when it was 150 and only 150(+1). It was always frustrating for me, especially since my little brother was getting into it, to try to come to grips with the new shows and new games. I mean, I played Pokemon Ranger and found it kind of...odd. I've played HeartGold, and I don't mind it too much.

It's a game that as a kid, I loved. I bought my Gameboy Pocket with Pokemon Blue and played straight through my first day on two triple-A batteries. I mean it was great, but now I'm just overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of Pokemon, and how they don't seem to truly differ at all.

I'm not a fan of pokemon in any respect but i'll try to do this without bais.

If your a fan of cute then the video games seem like the best way to go. The games contain all the pokemons in them so your not spending a fortune on booster packs, praying you'll get a pokemon you don't have. That being said it doesn't seem like the combat is much more compilicated then paper, rock, sissors.

The actual card game is a load of crap. I'm a Magic the Gathering player and so when i tried to give pokemon a chance i found it to be just too simple and limiting. I especially didn't like how you couldn't use an evolved form card without having the base level as well. I also wasn't a fan of only being able to bring out one monster at a time.

The anime...on one level i'm impressed that they put so much time and effort into a cartoon thats sole purpose is to premote the game but on top of the voice acting being horrible i just can't get over the fact that if you think about it the pokemon series is basically Dog Fighting with fantasy creatures. Think about it. you have to capture an animal in the wild, train it and then force it to fight other animals one on one for your amusment and finaical gain...thats dog fighting. The same kind that gets real life football players aressted. And the fact that you put a cute face on it and market it to kids is kind of creepy.
